RE: Inverted GS45

Thanks Bax.

Further tweaking has been good - I found some additional info on the web about setting the low-speed needle by blowing air through the carb at a low (virtually shut) throttle...

RE: Inverted GS45

Carb ordered late yesterday and arrived this morning - fantastic service from the guys at 'Motors & Rotors' (I think they are the main Super Tigre UK distributor). Bad news is I'm not having a great...

RE: Inverted GS45

Thanks for a prompt and detailed response! Will post my findings when I try it out. It used to run well, so the engine is well run-in and I'm hoping with the replacement carb it should run great.

Inverted GS45

I have a new Hangar9 Aresti (they're still on sale in the UK!) and am tryng to find a suitable engine for it. I have an OS45LA, but I cannot for the life of me make this run correctly inverted....

RE: 4 stroke newbie maintenance

Wow thanks all :)

Well I hadn't attacked with pliers yet, but did have the cylinder head apart, and to be honest things looked in fairly good shape. I did open the valves and give the valves and...

4 stroke newbie maintenance

Hi,

I've been given :) a rather old OS 120FS engine - so far I have only owned two strokes so this is slightly new territory. I believe it used to run (but probably not for a few years now). I...

RE: H9 Aresti Wheel Pant Help

Hmm I have this exact problem. Looking at the dimensions in the (mostly very good) manual, I think the wheels the model are shipping with are now larger (at 2.75" diameter). You certainly couldn't...

RE: Anyone Flying Esky V3 Lama?

Hmmm well thinking about mine there really isn't any other electronics in the heli, so I guess the Tx would be a good starting point. As a suggestion, I fly mine on my Futaba RC aircraft Tx (it's a...

RE: Anyone Flying Esky V3 Lama?

Yep I would say a new controller is in order from what you've written. I suspect the current has caused something to decease on the board, which is why when you swap the connectors it works, i.e. the...

RE: Anyone Flying Esky V3 Lama?

I don't see any reason why that shouldn't work. I fly mine on my Futaba RC plane trasnmitter - at first I thought the Lama was REALLY unresponsive, then realised that I was flying on about 50% rates,...

RE: Anyone Flying Esky V3 Lama?

Tail can be fixed easily with a bit of epoxy, sometimes more than once! Rotor blades (as with all helis) easy to damage, but cheap and easy to change. Tell-tale signs of cracks are excessive...

RE: Anyone Flying Esky V3 Lama?

I don't feel there's much I can add to that! We have a big warehouse joined to our offices, which has proved to be a great flying location. It stays pretty upright, so if you can find yourself...

RE: Anyone Flying Esky V3 Lama?

Probably - there's two or three variants on crystals I believe. For example, I think that Futaba and Sanwa (two of the major brands) are not compatible from a crystal point of view, but you can of...

RE: Anyone Flying Esky V3 Lama?

Oh dear - I'm guessing the chip you are referring to are the ones on the output stages of the two motors, so would be passing quite high current. If so I agree the connections don't look...

RE: Anyone Flying Esky V3 Lama?

Agreed, I leave my battery in the machine while I charge it (even though you probably shouldn't from a safety POV). Looks like the battery clips wouldn't survive too many battery swaps. Other than...

RE: Anyone Flying Esky V3 Lama?

As a RC plane flyer, I strayed into the heli world and I got me one of these in the UK at the weekend. Totally awesome - within about 30 mins I was hovering it happily in the kitchen, then progressed...

Electronics for Griffon hovercraft

I'm building a RC griffon, based loosely on Mark Porter's excellent plans at http://www.model-hovercraft.com/. I'm quite experienced at building aircraft so know the basics, but this is a new...
