RE: Modified Aerohawk is very stable

DCRC,

I personally would be conservative here, but have not experimented with an 11T w/ a stock motor. My experience with "stock" motors is that they don't last very long in any event. The...

Hi DCRC,

I placed one main rotor on top of the other, a bolt/nut through the holes and tape at the tips. Then using a drill press drilling 3/16" holes in the blades. Lightens them up and creates...

RE: Modified Aerohawk is very stable

Hi Russ,

DC motors are designed to turn in a certain direction. The J250 is set up for the wrong direction for our birds. Round can motors can be "retimed" to turn in the other direction, but...

RE: Modified Aerohawk is very stable

Lighter and offers more head speed, gives more response. There are other options such as trimming the blades or using wood blades, Like90's, for instance. I have a couple sets but have had trouble...

RE: Modified Aerohawk is very stable

Hi Coltech,

The reason I reversed the electronics and battery is because the motor being inverted is where the battery (half the battery) was, hanging from the battery mount between the struts....

Modified Aerohawk is very stable

First, I HAVE to say... I'm not an expert, I have learned to hover through complete NIMH packs in a room with maybe 6ft X 8ft of room (before hitting furniture, bookcases, etc. which has been done...

RE: New aerohawk owner needs advice

Hi Garlic...

The Aerohawk is a good bird to start with (IMHO). It can withstand alot of learning abuse, but you will crash, and so you will need to have a budget for parts/upgrades. Having said...

Hi Lineman,

Just purchased this canopy because I saw your post. Looks great!

Any tips on how you painted it, paint used, how you modified it for the Aerohawk would be awesome.

I now...

I've played with the mixer pots...
