RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

I got a leaf blower at a yard sale for $10.00. I direct the air flow on the pipe and the engine head. I have been able to tune the engine with a pusher prop and not overheat.

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

I have a set of spring air 305's that I am going to mount in a retract ready Bobcat 50. The main gear will fit fine. However, the nose gear will need some mods to work properly. The rail is set for...

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

I am wondering if variations in the manufacturing process of the ARF is leading to a different angle of incidence of the stab and wing. Does anyone that is achieving great flight performance have a...

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

I finally got mine finished. I will need to wait until I get my trailer fixed to maiden it--it won't fit in my car. Hopefully the weather will be good next weekend.

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

Can this be achieved by adding downward thrust to the engine?

RE: Clarence Lee Modified K&B .61 engine

I just got around to tuning this engine on a 10cc pipe. Following Clarence Lee and K&B method of tuning I was able to get 15,800 out of the engine. That is with a 10 x 7 prop. I will be flying a 10 x...

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

The guy from Mac Products said he is working on a "candy cane" that would turn the exhaust 180 to the back of the plane. He should have it ready in 3-4 weeks for about $30-$40.

RE: Best engine for a Bobcat 50

I took a friends advice and went to the source (Clarence Lee) about the Modified K&B .61 ringed engine I bought from him.
I got a response back from Clarence Lee about the K&B .61 he sold in a...

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

Would it make scense to position the tank right at the CG? That way full or empty the CG remains consistant...or am I missing something.

RE: Clarence Lee Modified K&B .61 engine

I also saw in the K&B parts list a counter-rotating crank. Is changing the crank to a counter-rotating crank all that is needed for the engine to run backwards? The Bobcat is a pusher plane and the...

RE: Clarence Lee Modified K&B .61 engine

Thanks Mike,

Good information that I was looking for! I want to use this for speed so I will look into replacing the crank and rod. What pipe and prop would you suggest?

RE: Best engine for a Bobcat 50

Thanks for all the info. I think before I go out and purchase a tower .75 I will try a pipe on the K&B .61 and see what RPM's I get. If I can get 13,000 to 14,000 out of the engine--I might stick...

Great review on the Bobcat 50.

I have a question.

RE: Clarence Lee Modified K&B .61 engine

Would putting a pipe on the Tower .75 be worth trying...or would I not gain that much power? I know that some engines can't handle the stress it puts on them.

RE: Clarence Lee Modified K&B .61 engine

I think I have been sold on either a Tower .75 or (if I can afford it) an OS .91. The .91 is $100.00 more but I am hearing that it will scream. I think it is not that much heavier than the Tower .75.

RE: Clarence Lee Modified K&B .61 engine

Sorry about the multiple post...I was just trying to get an opinion about the tower .75 engine in relation to the K&B .61. I should have just continued that in this thread.

My mistake

RE: Nitro models pusher Bobcat?

Which engine gives the best bang for the $$$?

I have a Clarence Lee Modified K&B 6550 .61 engines which should get me about 12,000 RPM with a 11.5x7 prop ($135.00). A tuned pipe could raise the...
