RE: Winner RC Lazy Days

Got her all put together and ready to fly. Am waiting for a calmer day for the maiden flight. I really like the thoughtful design and nice construction. One of the cheap servos that came with the...

RE: Winner RC Lazy Days

Don't know yet. Package says "do not open 'til Christmas". I'll find out the day after Christmas.

RE: Winner RC Lazy Days

I got a green one. I like the look of the yellow on the box but that color isn't available.

RE: Winner RC Lazy Days

Got my Lazy Days today. They went on sell this week and I got the version with servos for $109. They have gone back up $10 since then. Looking forward to flying her! Nice looking plane with spare...

RE: Winner RC Lazy Days

HitecMan,

Thanks for the info. I think I'll get myself a Lazy Days. I like the idea of an expanded wind envelope. I know that comes at the expense of a higher flight speed but that shouldn't...

RE: Winner RC Lazy Days

Hitec Man,

So how is the plane on the slow end? The speed is fun but it is nice to fly slow too. As you say it looks like a slow oldtimer. A review in Fly RC said it is good in the wind. ...

RE: Antenna Spools?

One of my flying buddies used one of those spools on a Hitec Electron 6 and had serious glitching because the spool was right next to the servos. He unwound the spool and the glitches went away. If...

RE: 7.2V 900mAh battery in Slow Stick

John,

They work great. That is what I almost always fly on my SS. I have also flown the 7 cell 1100 mAh which the Aerobirds can use. They give a little better performance but not much. I...

RE: Looking for a good kit

My first balsa build was a scratch build of the Gym Swallow

It was much easier to build than I thought and it flies nicely. I even built...

RE: aerobird V tail or rudder/elevators?

I started with a Firebird Commander and my second plane was the Slow Stick. You can fly the SS very high even on NiMH batteries although LiPo's are much better performers. They are also not a very...

RE: Drop Mod

Here is a picture of how I did it on a Slow Stick from the top of the wing.

I made the mistake of dropping a parachute guy from the top of...

RE: Radios and Cell Phone Towers

It certainly makes sense to be conservative and keep the cell phones away from the planes but I'm still having a hard time understanding how the interference can occur. I read the referenced thread...

RE: Quarters for weight in an Easy Star

I used quarters in my EZ* as well. Just be sure to use the North Carolina Wright Brother ones for good luck!

Get that CG dead on. I set mine a few mm in front of the recommended location...

RE: Radios and Cell Phone Towers

I agree that cell phone frequencies are probably too high to interfere with 72 MHz RC equipment. However, there are some pager frequencies squarely in the 72 MHz band. Those antennas should be...

RE: Multiplex Easy Star, construction, flight report

I can't give you anything quantitative on the relative flight speed of the Slow Stick and EZ* but the Slow Stick is definitely much slower. I actually find that the SS requires more piloting than...

RE: aerobird V tail or rudder/elevators?

I agree with rumme. You should take a close look at the T-Hawk. I know guys who have Aerobirds and a T-Hawk and they appear to be very similar. It also comes with a spare wing, tail, props, and...

RE: Multiplex Easy Star, construction, flight report

Anthony,

I think you will love the EZ*. You are doing the right thing with your research and questions. I started with a Firebird Commander back in November and, although I learned a lot with...
