RE: BTE Venture 60

RE: NO SELLING - JUST COMPARE FUTABA 8FG TO A9 HITEC

i agree - i think all 3 are different but more or less even steven ... i went with the A9 primarily for the lower Rx prices - i don't believe i've taken a gamble here - although it's well known that...

The 8fg has the gimbals, two sliders and 2 volume knobs which adds up to 8

the A9 only has the gimbals and sliders - adding up to 6,...

RE: B44 Solid drive shaft, or 501x belt ?...

i went with the D4 after a lot of research
i like the shaft drive, the super smooth shocks and the top of the line chassis
What swung me away from the B44 was the edgy handling that it has a...

RE: Sig Something Extra Mods

counter-balanced is the way to go (mass-balancing is not necessary - adding weight to the counterbalanced portion). You can even increase the size of the counterbalanced area to more than you see in...

RE: Make Kit Building Required

difficult to mandate it - and arguably not a desirable thing -

it's like some people are Q and some are James Bond ...that is, some are great at making and some at piloting/trashing planes - so...

RE: NIT PICKING ABOUT WEIGHT? READ THIS

have to agree about light planes in crashes - less mass = less kinetic energy = less damage. If built well, a light structure will be every bit as strong as a "reinforced" one where aerodynamic...

RE: NIT PICKING ABOUT WEIGHT? READ THIS

well, I think you guys have summed it up -

in lab conditions ie. no wind whatsoever (or just a steady consistent drift) then there is no argument - lighter will fly better, smoother, slower,...

RE: SIG Somethin' Extra build-along

wish I'd done the rudder mod with the counter balance...it needs it. You could also put counter balances on the elevators... it'll mean that your servos have less work to do and you will have better...

it's a reasonably light airframe to begin with but you could still lighten it up a little ... around the firewall you won't need the extra beef that the glow version requires to absorb all the...

RE: Is a Mag .91 4 stroke over kill in a GP Ultimate 40

90 4 stroke is too much

it just means more weight - if you actually go to use the extra power then you just burn fuel - a 90 will be relatively thirsty. So then you'll want a bigger tank and...

RE: Jeti Vs Castle Creations?

I use both. Never a problem with either. Throttle on the Jeti might be a little smoother, but this is really not important.
