RE: Pro4 durability

They were the front ones, which makes sense because they will take more punishment if you hit anything.

One of the better racers at the track suggested the steel dogbones to me. He had had...

Pro4 durability

Has anyone else had issues with the aluminum Pro4 dogbones?

I have broken two in my last two trips to the track, and I'm not talking about really hard collisions either. The last time was barely...

RE: oh dear!!! better luck next time.......

What's the problem? I've seen many people driving far, far worse bodies than this. If my first one had been that good I was would have been pleased. :)

RE: Sorry for the dumb question...

On some vehicles it's almost impossible to make a good visual assessment; for instance, my Pro4. If you can't look at the gears "head-on" then you can't see if it has the proper mesh. In these...

Painting nitro bodies

Has anyone used this product: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=000536251&I=LXMV87&P=K

Supposedly helps water-based paint withstand nitro fuel. With the purchase of my first...

RE: plexiglass as a canvas

It's also a good idea to save your scrap lexan for testing new ideas.

RE: which paint job should i do (pics)

I do most of my wings clear. I find them incredibly annoying to airbrush due to their small size that makes them hard to hold onto. After I saw a racer at my local track running a clear wing, I...

RE: which paint job should i do (pics)

I'm a big fan of orange and black, so I'm biased towards that one. Here's my latest with those two colors; I love how it turned out:

RE: Starting problems (play familiar tune here)

Right on, man! You hit the nail right on the head. I took my clutch apart and I discovered that I, um, built it incorrectly. Let's just leave it at that. As I recall, I assembled the clutch very late...

RE: Starting problems (play familiar tune here)

That's the direction I've been going. No additional tries today, but I'll get to it soon.

RE: Starting problems (play familiar tune here)

It's brand new, but sleeves are supposed to be tapered like this. It's not preventing the engine from turning over or running on the box.

RE: Starting problems (play familiar tune here)

Yeah, that's what I was doing. I gave it some throttle and tried to remove it at the same time and it still died immediately. I also saw on Trinity's website that idling problems can be caused by the...

RE: Starting problems (play familiar tune here)

Just bumping this, because I tried again today and I had the same problem. I adjusted the idle screw a bit, to no avail. I even gave it some throttle when on the box and it still dies immediately...

RE: Just Some Beginning Help

Spray cans will be cheaper and can still achieve decent results. If you're only going to do one, that's the way to go. Here's a good article to get you started: ...

RE: Stupid Question how do you cut holes in the body?

Do you mean for antenna and body posts?

The best way to cut those holes is with a body reamer such as: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDCG6&P=ML

A dremel or drill can...

RE: Problem!!Don't know how long to charge my battery's

mA is a unit of current. mAh is a unit of current over a period of time. So, a GP3300 pack (3300 mAh) will theoretically put out 3300 mA for a period of 1 hour (or 6600 mA for 1/2 hour, etc.)

RE: Motor lathe

If you're running a 14t, relying on your LHS to true your comm is silly. You'll spend more time going there to get it done than running it.

RE: Motor lathe

You'll have to cut it a fair amount with a 14t. How much, depends on how much tolerance you have for diminished performance. For racing, I think most people would cut that one every few runs. Even...

RE: Are Pro-match battery packs pre-charged?

Pro-match ships uncharged. I've ordered probably 8-10 packs from them.

Does your charger have an adjustable peak detection setting? It might be set too low. Or, if it is set correctly, some...

RE: ac vs dc

Still, it's bulkier and heavier to carry around a ps and dc charger, than to carry simply an ac charger like one of the integy units, which are fairly small and light. Personally, I use a dc charger...
