Shutting off as you pass mid-range is what my first one did before I leaned the low end sufficiently. Same thing with the low rpm's. Lean the low end and don't be surprised if you have to lean it...

The Robart hinges work well but they are tall. I wouldn't be surprised if they were too tall to fit inside the trailing edge of a Yellow P-38 wing.

I think a better option for a P-38...
