RE: Pica 1/5 mustang

Have to agree with Flak. I'm putting the ZDZ50 in my Pica Mustang. Its power to weight ratio is much better than Zenoah G62, and slightly better than DA50. Although I've heard they build tail...

RE: World Models 60 size P51D ARF Which Retracts?

One thing you want to remember is that after you have "bent" the gear back over two or three times the metal has become fatigued and will always bend at that spot easier every time it happens. After...

RE: YS 110 oil? Synthetic?

If you want a little extra kick, Cool Power 30% heli fuel works great. Lots of people I know use it, I use it and ysperformance recommends it due to the oil content. It is all synthetic.

RE: Searchin' for some booty

Hey guys,

We definitely need to keep this thread alive. I'm going to use it to check on who I'm buying from. If (not to mention names in this thread) is selling something I wouldn't want to...

RE: Please tell me what plane this is

Aerothums, you did it! I contacted Dennis at Zimpro with the same pictures and he said the same thing you did about the cowl. Dennis said that the plane is about 20 years old. Hopefully he can...

RE: great planes f-14

Foxtrot,

I put the same retracts in mine. They work fine. They mount with room to spare and can survive pretty hard landings. The retract cutout in the plans fit this gear also.

RE: FuntanaS 40 with OS .50SX??

The Funtana pictured in my previous post has Futaba 3004's in it and has plenty of control. And with a 91 fourstroke you don't have to worry about weight. I have a OS-70 Surpass four stroke in my...

RE: FuntanaS 40 with OS .50SX??

A friend of mine at the field has that same setup and it is great. He put the Bison Pitts muffler system on it and is spinning some where around 13,200rpm with a 12X5. It does have unlimited...

RE: prop suggestion for 46FX on Viper 500

HighPlains

That was jokingly what I said to a buddy of mine down here. Thanks guys, I'll go get me a 9X8 APC and bring it with me just in case the 10 doesn't work.

RE: Twin Jet blows up

I agree whole heartedly. I've heard of a couple of people try using Estes rocket motors on planes and the larger RC trucks. Seems they forget that these same rocket motors also have parachute...

prop suggestion for 46FX on Viper 500

Im not going to do any pylon racing with this plane. I just wanted to make it the fastest that I could. I have not flown it yet. I put a 10X8 APC prop on it and it doesn't look like I can get it...

RE: First warbird recommendation

I know you want to run a Supertigre 90G. But most warbirds require the engine to run inverted if you want to save the cowl for looks. And the Supertigre hates to run inverted. Seen many people at...

RE: Nose cone explodes injures leg

The spinner I was using on the YS61-S(long stroke) was a Dubro 3" color blue. I've used Dubro spinners exclusively on YS63(4stroke), Magnum46, Supertigre 90, Saito 90, OS 70 Surpass and others. ...

RE: Nose cone explodes injures leg

Did that. I've known for a long time that you don't let the prop touch the spinner. I was wondering if filing and sanding the holes out if that weakened the plastic? Too bad I don't have a high...

RE: Nose cone explodes injures leg

I didn't notice a thing, just BAM! and a lot of pain. As for the prop nut, I sometimes put them on too tight. I went ahead and ordered a new drive washer just in case it wasn't biting enough. This...

RE: Positive vs. Negative shift radios

Your just talking buying Futaba or the like brand crystals and switching between Hi and Lo right? Not JR or something else into Futaba. Because I know that doesn't work. As for switching crystals...

Nose cone explodes injures leg

Never had this happen, nor seen it happen to anyone else. I was tuning in my brand new pipe for my YS61-S (long stroke) when the nose cone exploded at about 13,000RPM and a big piece of it hit my...

RE: great planes f-14

Your builder/artist sounds a little like me. My wife is always saying to me, "No one is going to see it or notice it". To which I reply, "But I'm going to know its there". My wife seems to think I...

RE: Positive vs. Negative shift radios

You had a Pos shift rec. I tried a JR rec with a Futaba TX and all that the servos did was twitch a little. Even the crystals can not be switched, like taking a crystal out of a Futaba rec and...

RE: great planes f-14

Jim,

Nice plane you have there. The black really brings out the "meanness" of the Tomcat. Just received my tuned pipe for the YS61-S long stroke that I'm going to put on mine. Was doing some...

RE: Fliteskin anyone used it???

Don't know about fliteskin, but you can put Econocote directly over foam. Did it many times for some trainers. Any covering that will go on with low heat will work directly on foam. Worldtex...
