RE: S T G2300 scorched combustion chamber

Gee, on the basis of your cogent and very sensible reply, as well as the fact that the engine is really quite well behaved and seems very powerful- I believe I will chalk my fears up to advanced age...

S T G2300 scorched combustion chamber

My Supertigre G-2300, purchased new from Tower Hobbies in October, 2002, sees to have suffered a scorched piston and liner (in the vicinity of the exhaust port). The piston and liner also appear...

RE: irvine 40 diesel

Your disgust with the use of "small" props on diesels is interesting-but: it all depends on the airplane. That 9x8 prop would be OK loadwise on a Glow .40, so surely qualifies as a good choice for a...

You are increasing the load by 50%, not 33% (you're, not your), nichts?

RE: Info on a couple of ED's

I have a Chinese copy of the E.D. 3.46 (is it?) Hunter by C.S. . It varies a bit from your example in that it has a shorter drive washer (prop extension?) and a taller cylinder to allow, I suppose,...

RE: diesel fuel additive

Oddly enough (or is it really so odd?), 100% x (11/((11 x 128) +11)) = 2.60%.

Sure looks like it might work for us.

Best to Y'all from South Brooklyn, for the new Year,

Morty.

RE: <span class=

The answer is: Either change the geometry of the throttle linkage (to offset the servo arm to nearly 90 degrees at full retard throttle position) or to program some opposite exponential if a computer...

RE: New motor will not stay running without glow plug.

Just about the ONLY bad trait your K&B Sportster .65 has is that it will typically ruin at least 1 glow plug during the break-in period. The plug will continue to light up normally, but will not...

RE: I need some basic info. on Enya .29 engine.

Not true: the Enya used a cast-iron piston which demands heat cycling to relieve stresses and thus "grow" to it's final dimension and be work-hardened while wearing in to size. The trick is to run...

RE: ENGINE STARTING

I know that this is a very OLD topic, but it really bears restating CORRECTLY!

RE: Diesel V 2 Stroke

The K&B Sportsman >20 is 85% more powerful than the Chinese >.30 4-stroke and is (I am sure) of a similar degree of quietness, and has a 20% better Max/Idle rpm ratio. These factors ought to put to...

RE: Diesel smoke

Way too little ether and lube! what you really want is about 33% ether, 20% total real lubricant (Heavy-duty like castor oil, in a bushed-bearinged engine like your TT). Just add just ONE QUART of...

RE: Awesome New Diesel Head Conversion

It happens that I am (and have been, since 1948 AD, and the Deezil "A") a bona-fide Diesel nut case.

I have TWO brand new Mecoa .46s (same as your LEO .46) and only one Davis head between them. ...

RE: Deseil Vs. Glow

Strange thing...

RE: CS replicas: Rivers and Oliver Tiger 2.5 - progress!

My own experience with a CS replica engine (ED Hunter 3.2cc) is similar to yours; the contra-piston , being of much too snug a fit in the cylinder, could not be persuaded to budge. Lacking access to...
