RE: Tires: Rubber Honeycomb or Foam Inserts

frailcow, the tires in the second pic don't use inserts, they have an inner honeycomb design.

Those are Medial Pro IAS right? My hobby shop has those, but only in soft, I'm waiting for the hard...

RE: 1/8 1/10 1/6 1/4 WTH!

Here's the 1:1 Savage. It's on HPI's site.

RE: braking question....

That depends on how much braking you want. Do you want the tires to lock up at full speed? I wouldn't. I set the EPA to brake as much as possible without locking the tires.

RE: Which is the best On-road nitro car of them all!!

He's right though. This question is asked a few times a day on here, so your question is nothing people want to jump at. How about you just look around a little, there are many, many topics comparing...

RE: cheap 2 channel radio

Take a look at the JR XR2i. They're $99 and that includes 2 servos. I'm not sure if you could get it with only the steering servo though, since you only need one. But, it's a good, inexpensive radio....

RE: So i was using nitro fuel to clean my air filter....

Don't use soap and water. It doesn't work very well. It doesn't get the dirt, grime and old filter oil out of the element. WD-40 works great for me. All I do is load up the filter with a lot of...

RE: Torn between RS4 3 SS and Savage SS for first

Yeah, the RS4 would definitely allow you to improve your driving skills where as with the Savage, you just run over and jump anything that is in the way... in most case, HA.

Since you'll be by...

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others

There wouldn't be anywhere to put reverse on a 1/10 car! And if you did squeeze it on there, it would probably destroy the handling characteristics. Reverse would be nice though. It sucks when you...

RE: Torn between RS4 3 SS and Savage SS for first

Well, I'm not talking that super glass surface stuff you might see in a warehouse floor, but a fairly smooth lot. It just seems like every parking lot, no matter how smooth it may look, has a big...

RE: Newbie-how's this sound? Need anything else?

You HAVE to get a failsafe. I didn't have one at first, but I should have! I had 3 run aways before I got one. Luckily I didn't wreck it any of the 3 times. One time it got stuck in a wide 30 mph...

RE: Torn between RS4 3 SS and Savage SS for first

I got the RS4 3 SS as my first RC. I really like it, it's a great car, but it sucks that you only can only run on really smooth parking lots without worrying about wrecking or flipping. Also, you get...

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others

Give the Evo some credit, it's a little faster than that. They say it does around 40 mph give or take a few, and I believe it. A cool police officer put his radar on my friend's bone stock Evo. The...

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others

Be careful when using those wheel spacers. They don't allow the wheel nut to thread very far and the wheel could come off. I tried some spacers in the rear of mine. The nut only threaded about 3/4...

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others

I shouldn't have said that the front tires pull causing the car to push. All that pull push stuff I said got confusing. I should have said the LSD up front would make the front tires drive the tires...

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others

I think you'll find it to be the other way around.

A LSD up front would cause the car to push on throttle out of turns because the wheels are trying to spin the same speed and pull the car in a...

RE: Stuff needed to build the SS

The kit should come with the necessary tools you'll need. I don't have a Savage SS, but I have an on-road RS4 SS and it came with a little tube of loctite, two sizes of allen keys, a turnuckle...

RE: wider tires possible?

Nobody knows what kind of car you have. I'll assume you have a RS4 though. You can't fit wider wheels on there with the stock radio tray. The left rear tire would rub the tray. You'd have to get...

RE: RECOIL STUCK 40cm OUT !

Try moving the flywheel back and forth a little bit. I did that to mine a bunch of times during break-in. I just moved the flywheel and it would let the spring mechanism pull the starter back each...

RE: exhaust

And, rear exhaust engines typically will make more power because the air/fuel mixture is taking a straight path in and out the motor as opposed to making a 90 degree turn in the side exhaust engine.

RE: OFFICIAL RS4 RTR 3 thread!!!!!!!Also type SS and others

I'm getting a tuned pipe and header pretty soon, so I played around with my stock SS header last week.

When I took the header off, there was a nice mark left from the gasket, so I used that as...

HPIRTR3EVO-GTS-R, this is Bobby... Twin-Cam Bobby.

Larry's Hobbies has dog bones in stock. I bent one and got a pair from them for $4 or $5. There are two lengths. There's one long dog bone that...

RE: Shaft or belt?

An R40 bashing around in parking lots is like an Acura NSX in a demolition derby. If you're going to be running around in lots all the time, get the RS4 as the R40 is really meant to be a solid...
