I just scuffed them up with 0000 steel wool and sprayed very light coats of lustercoat. I think very light dusting coats is the key.

Here mine, just completed with help from some great info in this thread. Glassed and auto paint, OS .91, Robart retracts. 6 flights so far. Great realistic flyer with no bad habits.

Thanks for the replies, the tank location on my TF P51 will be almost dead center with the carb when plane is level flight with engine inverted.

Thanks, my first thought was to check the o-ring on the needle but it does not appear to have the typical o-ring set-up. Are there any common places to check for air leakage on the intake side?
