lol pull cord burns suck, just get some mechanic gloves from sears or an auto supply store to avoid those in the future besides after shes broken in, ya wont have to work so hard to crank it up.

sounds like you may have loosened the glow plug, try replacing it with brand new one and use the new washer as well that should help you out as far as the leaky situation.
