RE: Which is the best gyro mixer for my aerohawk

yes you do need some form of mixer. I've tried a CSM HH gyro with no mixer - the tail wags constantly (at all gain settings) because the gyro is constantly reacting to the main rotor torque. A gyro...

RE: wagging CSM200 gyro help

Hi marked23

Good debate on this !!! :-

>The tail drive is geared proportionately from the main rotor so that:- the faster the main rotor turns the faster the tail rotor turns to counteract...

RE: wagging CSM200 gyro help

marked 23

"Not true. I disagree. HH gyro sole purpose is to entirely eliminate the need for tail mixing. That's exactly what they do. Any situation where it doesn't seem to work that way can be...

RE: Is there a stand-alone main/tail mixer board on the market?

eheheh

agree totally that our views are right and well founded.

RE: wagging CSM200 gyro help

as my other post - seems we can attempt various bodges until the cows come home but the basic fact is that even HH gyros are only designed to control random fluctutions in tail movement and not to...

RE: Is there a stand-alone main/tail mixer board on the market?

I went seperates on my stock aerohawk using a CSM HH gyro and have been dissapointed with the results. With the absence of any tail mixing the tail is constantly fighting the main torque and is...

RE: CSM HLG200 - is this right ?

ok, finally got it installed properly and now gyro behaves like advertised, i.e. whilst on the ground, if I move tail by hand to a new position, the tail motor drives up and keeps driving in an...

RE: CSM HLG200 - is this right ?

I only have the signal wire connected between the gyro and tail speed controller. I haven't fixed the gyro in place yet, have been testing by just holding it. Will eventually be fitting it where the...

CSM HLG200 - is this right ?

I'm currently installing separates on my aerohawk, I chose the light weight CSM HLG200 HH gyro. Whilst rigging my seperates, and testing on the ground, the gyro doesn't seem to respond as I expected...

RE: Aerohawk tail: stock or DD

This also looks good but has anyone got this working well with a 2 cell li-po?, I mean in terms having enough weight in the battery to balance C0fG.

An extra motor and mount on the tail seems...

RE: Aerohawk tail: stock or DD

Sounds good. How long do the DD motors last? which high torque motor are you using?. Does it need a high freq. ESC?. (Just changing my tail ESC to a ICS-100).

Just in process of upgrading my aerohawk with a number of possibilties:-

RE: ABout to buy A LiPoly setup, ur thoughts would be welcome.

Kokam 1500 is the best in my aerohawk. Have tried e-tec 1200 also to compare, but the kokam wins in my opinion. Kokam fits in the original battery mounting clip so no need to design an alternative...

RE: Johnson 250 blows 5 amp fuse

Sounds like these Johnson motors are more trouble than they're worth and in danger of damaging the aerohawk's pcb. I'm still using a stock motor in my aerohawk with a 2 cell 1500 li-po - no probs and...
