RE: Big Swamp Buggy ??'s

My sposons were leaking a little - I wasn't willing to rip the tops off though- so I drilled passages thru to the bow and can sort of drain them.
I am thinking about drilling a 1 -1/2" hole or two...

RE: Big Swamp Buggy ??'s

Zimm,

RE: Big Swamp Buggy ??'s

RE: Big Swamp Buggy ??'s

Nihat, That BSB goes pretty good - although that porpoising looks a little scary especially when it jumps completely out of the water. It looks like it corners really well.
Nice videos - remind me...

RE: Big Swamp Buggy ??'s

That looks to be about identical in speed to mine with a .40 nitro. The plexi flatbottom insert gave it a couple mph more.
See post 219 for a good pic of that.
On the right snow that thing...

RE: Big Swamp Buggy ??'s

I ended up using a pair of rudders in the end - these are the second set before they were finished / painted. Note the unique hardware for the linkage - (bicycle brake parts) works very smooth.

RE: Big Swamp Buggy ??'s

Ya, the rasp gives you more control than the belt sander - may take a little longer - but much more control.
And yes definetly go with the rudder upgrade, I had good luck with a single rudder...

RE: Big Swamp Buggy ??'s

MJ - that is not my motor mount - that is the rudder bracket and gas tank mount, made of mahogany sanded to an airfoil shape.
My motor mount looks like this - works on all my medium size boats.

RE: Big Swamp Buggy ??'s

Hey MJ here is how I did my batteries in front - hot glue 4 nicads in front of the bobblehead mallard.
I would think an electric is going to have a LOT more batteries. My hatch had about 20 little...

RE: Big Swamp Buggy ??'s

Hi John, I used pretty heavyweight glass cloth - as that was what I had on hand at the time I used light weight body filler to fill in the "weave" It was not pretty - but it was smooth and tuff, I...

Noah, On water they don't slide much at all - mine...

Last one, this shows the killer planing plates that don't seem to do anything - but might, if there were a .61 on there.
