RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Jim, when my rudder hinges sheared there was no noise. At least I don't remember hearing anything strange. At first I thought I was getting a glitch or something because I saw the rudder "twitch"...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Don't mention it! ;) Unfortunately for my Twist, I have delved into the electric world for the last couple of years. I've learned quite a bit... some lessons were learned the hard way like...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

If you have a 3-cell Lipo pack that reads 6volts then you have a bad pack. It's ruined if it's that low. Cell voltage isn't supposed to go under 3v/cell so it should never read below 9v under a...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

You can tell the ones that haven't read the whole thread from the ones that have. It's been said on here time and time again that this plane isn't the best choice for a 3D ship.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Sounds like good advice! I would like to try a Chinn Yak especially. I've met Jeremy Chinn at Memphis E-Fest a couple times. He's a cool guy with some good designs... electric and glow. :D

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

I would agree that it would more correctly be called the TWIST FUN FLY than a 3D ship. No argument there. I've said (and most of the regulars here would agree) that since day one, or at least from...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

That was my thoughts Down. ;)

As far as "with enough power anything will fly"... I had a off-brand V-Max .46 on mine and it flew great with it. Keep in mind I didn't know much 3D back then, but...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

I couldn't let this go unanswered by me. When I read posts like this (that stick out like a sore thumb), I have to wonder "why". The way I wonder is by hitting up and viewing the last 100 posts or...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

That's a 5oz battery pack!!! [:@] If you want to shave every little bit of weight possible, use a Lipoly 2-cell pack and a voltage regulator. Close to the same price too. And if you are into...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

For those that are looking at 2-strokes at a reasonable price for the Twist....

Here are two options:

Cheapest (and strong enough to 3D) $79.99 [ $59.99 after discount ]

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

If you want a non-3D balance point, try 4.25" and you won't have the balloon-style landings. With my CG there I could fly hands free at half throttle even when inverted. The plane tracked like an...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

Mixing to adjust for coupling during knife edge is more complex to me than just getting your brain (and thumbs) used to doing it. Yes, the Twist is rather difficult to make a nice clean knife edge...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D

I go with what Down says.... keep it simple. At least that's the kind of bomb drop I've seen done at Fun Fly's before. Most of the time it's as simple as a styrofoam cup taped/rubber banded up...
