If the light is flashing it is not charging. It should flash less then a few min and then go solid green. When the light goes out it is fully charged. You are sure the battery is plugged in...

Good explanation Sid. Also with OpenTX there are options on how the trim works with throttle. I have mine set so the trim only impacts the low end of the throttle travel.
