This is a topic that comes up quite often - - what should the grain direction be on shear webs? Bottom line, it makes no difference as the shear stresses will always be at45 degrees to the span. ...

The 1/16 inch sheeting will be more than enough strength, no need to reinforce the spars since you are sheeting it. It might pay to put in shear webs though.
