I think that the USB 2.0 adapter suited the 'cheap ebay' systems quite well, Ashleyhall's video looked almost as good as the original video you get from those systems. If you are after more...

A cheap way to do the composite video to PC conversion is to use a USB converter. The prices are very reasonable (in the order of around $50). It is also a lot easier than fitting a card in your PC....
