RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

skukreja - Sorry to hear about your loss. I would probably rebuild it and try to fix the problems on the next attempt. Good luck and keep us posted.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

skukreja - :D Awesome job on the biplane! I didn't realize it was possible to have too much lift. Perhaps moving the battery and / or adding some weight will help. A four cell battery will fit...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

NB - I added the light ply and triangle stock to this area because I had two hard landings that damaged the fuselage above and forward of the wing. If you nose the plane in and it strikes the front...

Taildrager- Welcome to the party! We should get together and fly our Twists! I might make it to the Ogle Co fly in but can't commit yet. Keep us posted on if/how that motor fits.

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I maidened my Twist 40 yesterday. The new Magnum 46 took allot of adjusting before I felt comfortable taking it to the air. I had run a tank of fuel through it for breaking it in but the needles...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

3004's will be fine. If your planning on doing allot of 3d you might want to find a faster servo. Sometimes the 3004's are slower than I would like.

I run a Magnum 46 2 stroke and had to trim...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

That Biplane looks SWEET! I hope it flys as nice as it looks. How do you have it balanced right now? I'd expect you'd have to move the CG forward a bit but I could be wrong. Keep us posted!

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

linkadrip- I have no idea why. I chose to type T\/\/!$T just to be different from everyone typing T____T. Of course I did slip and actually typed Twist as well.

We got home from LV today and I began the process of breaking the motor for my new T\/\/!$T. I know everyone likes to overpower these planes but I've never...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I started building the Twist 40 this weekend. Based on previous crash damage, I've decided to strengthen the fuselage a bit. Here is some of the extra support that I decided to add. I epoxyed thin...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Sunday's fun fly was great. We had 18 pilots show up and probably 70 spectators. I've never participated in one so it was a new experiance for me. I'm hoping to participate in a couple more events...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Viper - I have a Twist 40 with a Magnum 46, battery is under the fuel tank, and no added wieght. You should be ok without the lead in front. I'd imagine that the .52 is a bit heavier. How's it for...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Today I spent the afternoon flying the Twist again. I changed props and mounted the 12.25 X 3.75 APC before heading out to the airfield. I was concerned about the new engine and if I had it broken...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

After two break-in tanks of fuel for the new motor, I put the Twist in the air. I left the 10x6 APC prop on it today for the purpose of break in on the new engine. This was my first flight in...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I have a couple questions about the CG on the Twist. When I originally assembled the plane, I had the battery pack under the fuel tank. This resulted in a forward CG with the fuel tank empty. I...
