imo the DA 50 will be heavy, 32 oz is the optimum weight to balance, i havent looked up the weight of a DA 50 in a while but i think its close to 50 oz? if so it will be a pain to balance and fly...

i think you would like the 8 best, i use a apc 17x8 on my saito 180, i had the mas 16x8x3 on mine originally like you and had the same results.

jr srandard 537s work fine on the ailerons w/6volt, mine will spin a knot real fast:D

you will love the 180 in this plane, balances easy with servos in stock location, you may have to put the battery up front somewhere, heck ya never know till ya get it ready;)

it will fly great at that weight mike, mine comes in at that same weight;) i have over 100 flights on it now and love it[8D]

actually its a lot closer than that, itss off about 4 oz at 10 lbs and with me accounting for that, its still 11lbs 3 oz;)

i used a black plastic trash can for the cutout for the airblock in the front of the cowl to direct air directly over the engine head.overall i think it looks better than the picture of cylinders[X(]...

yes sir, 5 in with the finger balance. my battery had to go right under and just to the rear of the pilot;)

well ive had mine dead stick about3 times and if your not a beginner flyer and have a real feel for stall, this plane isnt that hard to get back to the runway unless your under 20 ft and inverted,...

elderair, the three blade really does look great on this plane, i tried mine again today(16x8 mas) and with my 180 it just doesnt perform near as good as with the 17x8 apc, i always end up with the...

i have the saito 180 on mine elder air, its a little more than needed but i like to go a little larger than needed, that way i can use the engine for more applications, but the 180 is a great engine...

this is a great plane for what you just mentioned, but i wouldnt go below a 6 pitch prop, this plane will be dragging with a 4 pitch, ive got over 100 flights on mine with a 8 pitch and i beleive...

the 160 would be a great engine for the monster, i have one in my superstar (same weight as the monster at 11.25lbs).

i have the saito 180 in mine but wouldnt hesitate one minuite on trading,...
