RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

What qualifies you as an expert? You didn't bother to explain your view. Instead you chose to make a snide remark. These boards are all about sharing ideas and learning new things. If that's a...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

("The truth of it is, the quicker the water flows, the cooler it's likely to be, and the more heat it will pull away. These are not internal combustion engines; they are electric devices, and they'll...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

If you're talking about the same cooling jacket I'm thinking of then yes it should according to my measurements.

I've never used aquarium tubing before because I've never needed to. There is a...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I don't blame the MFG for what I percieve to be inadequate cooling. I just make changes to suit my needs. NBD...

Some people believe that RTR means batteries and charger included. In some cases...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Berilium is hazardous and you should wear a dust mask or some similar form of protection. As to whether stainless is a better material than berilium, I don't know.

2. Check offshoreelectrics.com for a replacement flexshaft or u-joint.
4. May have some binding in the drive line, make sure that the prop drive shaft is very well lubed with a good quality grease....

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Take a heat gun or blow dryer if possible and get the electronics as dry as possible as quickly as you can. The idea is to prevent corrosion which will give you trouble later. If you let the stuff...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I have the same cooling flow problem with mine. The pickup hole in the rudder is tiny. I'm going to put a rudder on with a larger pickup hole and maybe enlarge the ID of the water exit fitting. This...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I noticed that some Supervee owners have had cracks in the paint, myself included. Rather than waiting two weeks for product support to send me a replacement boat I decided to repair it myself....

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Here's the list arranged by pitch:

Octura X440= 2.198
Prather 215= 2.5
Octura X640= 2.512
Prather 220= 2.6
Octura X642= 2.640
Octura X645= 2.832

I suspect that the x645 is going...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

It was the 2 blade. I disagree about it being quicker though. I liked the performance of the x640 and felt it was faster overall without putting too big a strain on the motor and batteries.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Just got back from the pond.... The Octura x640 is pretty quick with virtually no cavitation out of the hole. I don't have a GPS so I can't post speeds. The batteries and motor were pretty warm after...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Actually a clever way to grease it would be to make a small hole in the stuff tube at one end and use a small grease gun with a needle like attachment. Just carefully fill the stuff tube with grease...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

This question will be subject to much debate but I like to regrease after every 2-3 runs, or if I run the boat through several battery packs then I'll regrease at the end of the day. I also use a...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I had a spektrum radio in an electric boat once, the thing was glitching so badly it was un- usable. I sent the radio back for repair then sold it to a friend. So I never did try it after the...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Take the time to tape the hatch every time you run or you'll likely lose your boat. I was running today in rough chop & pretty windy. The wind flipped the boat as it came off the crest of a wave. It...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I noticed the same thing about mine. The stinger wasn't parallel to the bottom of the boat so I tried to adjust this. Looks like the stuff tube has to be bent ever so slightly to change alignment,...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

The water jacket on my supervee leaks, not bad but it's enough to be a problem. Any ideas on how to stop this?
