Thanks, gonna get started this weekend on the conversion. Placed an order with Tower yesterday with basic shipping and received it today for the mounts, etc. I love that we're just one state away...

Cool! I have a bunch of those Robart nuts laying around. Will order the GP motor mounts and get started. Looks like you didn't go with the dummy radial engines in the front of the cowls...

Umitv, do you remember which motor mounts you used? If your carb's are just touching your firewall, it would seem your prop is sticking out about an inch further forward. Did you modify your cowls?...

This might sound silly but I had a couple of NIB DLE-20's sitting in my workshop and I had to send both of my Saito 82's in for service so I was staring at the 2 DLE-20's and 2 empty...

UMITV, I'm in the process of switching to DLE 20's and would love to see how you mounted them. Pretty much have to carve out the middle of the firewall to get the carb through and concerned about...

Hang in there Fidelity! Geometry for LG doors can be a bit of a pain with tweaking here and there. But once you get the bends just right, it's a beautiful thing.

Mine looks exactly like Speeds except I got the aluminum arm vs the plywood one that is supplied with the ARF.

I have this model and I can take a look but I know I followed that section exactly except for the picture that had inboard and outboard reversed. I didn't follow RCDon on this part. I do remember...

I just pulled out my manual and looked because this sounded familiar. The picture in step 13 on page 17 is wrong. I crossed out Outboard and Inboard and reversed them in the manual....

Here's the link to the BB from WS Models. Michael has redesigned the bombs so there no longer is a plywood center, etc. so you can ignore that part. He also tweaked the pylons.

Agree with Norman on using JB Weld. Built mine about a year after Normand did and he was a big help to me (all of us)!

Normand, I did the WS Bomb bay doors and the rotating top turret on mine...

There is no question that a couple DLE 20's would be way more power than this bird needs. But I have them sitting there and will find a way to bash them in. I really am getting away...

Well.... score one for PM! I decided to tear down the nacelles 'just to look around' and make sure everything looked good. The nylon bolts holding the nacelle to the wing were a little loose...

Agree with Ron... needed a lot of right aileron. So much so that others commented that I must have my ailerons screwed up because there was so much right aileron trimmed in. Doesn't seem to bother...

It's been awhile but I don't think I needed any down elevator trim on the maiden other than a click or two either way.

Have mine on the bench with the cowls off doing some PM. Those nacelles...
