RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I said more enjoyable not fun :D.

I just know the speeds these are capable of, mine with a K140 and a freinds with a P160sx ( mine is faster by the way ). If you enjoy flying at that speed then...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Honestly the 20lb turbines in that frame are more enjoyable to fly. The 140's and up are really stupid fast and you end up burning a lot of sky fast.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Kind of hard to trim out, because of the WIDE speed envelope of this plane. IF you put in enough throttle to elevator mix to correct properly it will baloon on you when you pull the power and glide...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I hate to hear of your problems. It's a shame too, probably the best Asian built planes but have heard too many problems of piss poor customer service. Hope it all works out for you.

Who is your...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

The Pro-links are very good, have standard sizing and work very well. Dreamworks customer service is second to none.

I have the Jet 1-a main legs on mine with the behotec retracts which work...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Because I use 7955's I just programmed them all and y'd the elevators and flaps. I used the behotc brake/gear valve that came with the gear which works good and keeps things simple. I have my...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Not familiar with the Gaspar units, I believe they are Xicoy. I know Jet Centreal uses the dame fadec, very easy to use.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

The factory set acceleration rate is a little slow, you can fine tune that and set to half expo and it will spool up pretty good.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Normally I am a big fan of overkill when it comes to more power, but honestly you aren't really gaining much by installing a 160 size or bigger turbine into the Flash. Unless you want to spend an...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Yes, the plane is significantly quieter with a by-pass, even just using the upper half only quietens it down.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Thats not the bypass making the noise, its wind buffetting off of the wings at speed - lol.

The SWB 1" arms are also drilled at the .750" mark. You can shorten the arm to fit under the fairing.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I thought you were joking about drilling felt, I just assumed everyone would know to drill the nipple - DUH.

The set up I have Y'd is one felt clunk and one heavy clunk both in the stock tank...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

You drill holes in the felt, seriously.

The clunk has an approximate id of 3/32", you can drill out the nipple to 1/8" id. Their is a lot of side area under the felt so it should feed a big...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I did one that used one felt clunk and one heavy clunk y'd into UAT. Works great on a 160. You could also drill out the felt clunk.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I think anything over a 140 size you are just burning more fuel. As far as the classic flash I think the airframe is speed limited. I do know that mine with the K-140 is faster than a P160sx equipped...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

I've flown a classic flash with a rabbit and it is really a great set-up. The 22# version will be perfect for that plane, with the rabbit it had good verticle but not unlimited and would fly fast...

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video

Normally on anything with a live hinge it is more effective on the hinge side, so you would want less travel up.
