RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

I put the cowl on and tried it out. I don't know why, but I had to cut way back on the throttle. It came in way too hot. The motor is running much better now.

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

I flew it again yesterday. I had two "dead stick" landings! It lands better "power off" than "on".

I'm an "accident waiting to happen". The cheep Hobby King $129.95 30cc gas motor ran fine, but...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Joe,

I bought the ARF box of parts from a guy over a year ago. He was at least the third owner of the box. It smelled moldy from sitting a more than one basement.

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Another thing, I'm trying to put the windshield in. It fits perfectly without trimming. The problem is the instrument panel. It only goes in through the windshield opening. If I put it in though, I...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

I'm almost done putting this plane together. It's a bit tricky getting the flaps lined up using my Airtronics RDS8000. I have them on channels 6&7. Airtronics says to use channels 5&8 for flaps and...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

I have a question. Does it look like I have the main gear on the right sides? For some reason this plane wants to be a taildrager.

Also, it doesn't look like I can lower the Robart front wheel...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

I just bought a Robart nose gear #654. The wheel that came with the ARF doesn't fit. Is there another robart I should have gotten, or can I use a smaller wheel?

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

I'm thinking of going with the suggested Zenoah G26. What size fuel tank is best?

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Is everyone using RF filters on their servo leads? http://www.hangar-9.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=JRPA029

They came installed on the Hanger 9 PNP 1/4 Cub I bought. I'm new to gas, are they...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

Wow, I'm not sure I could justify paying $400 for servos. Oh, and let's not forget the elevator.

I'm trying to think of the order of importance of servo failure:
- Nose wheel servo takes the...

RE: Building the Hangar 9 Cessna 182 Skylane

I just bought a NIB Hanger 9 Cessna 182 today. I'm new to large planes, can you tell me what size servos I should use? Thanks, Bill
