no it hasn't had any damage in that regard. i just adjusted the valves and fueling lines and will need to go back out to re-tune it. thanks for the suggestions though... i'll keep plugging away...

yup, i have a few other things to try so hopefully i'll narrow it down a bit. managed to find a valve cover screw/bolt. raided my cycling parts and found just the perfect size, length too. total...

yeah,i've got a rather large one from a UPS and i've tried one that is used to jump starting cars. it's a handy unit that is VERY portable. got it from Canadian Tire!!

thanks for the info. i do have a hi-torque starter but it is OLD. so i have no idea what it's rated at. but i won't spin the 1.50 over very easily and does what w8 said... bouncing but not turning...
