I've been into the rev limiter during a dive with my Boomerang/150 (with my policeman friend holding the radar gun) I heard the distinct miss of the rev limiter come into play. I...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Good morning-
Yes my 150 does the same thing- it is some grease out of the cam area, and lubricates the pulse pump, and slowly leaks out of the air vent of the pulse pump.
You just wipe it off...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hey guys,
I just proved that the ignition system really does have a rev limiter!
Was out flying the Boomerang yesterday, and a local policeman came along with his radar gun.
The Boomer with...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi Jeff,
Have you pulled all the plugs to see how the burn is going?
I had a bit of an issue that was confusing on my 150 before TopGun. Ran like a watch with the Xoar 26-16 2 blade, but when i...

Was good to meet you and the others at TopGun, sure were a lot of great radial sounds there. Unmistakeable, no?
People sure love the multicylinder sounds, I had a lot of comments. ...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi guys,
Got the 150 and Boomerang up for one colddd test flight for trimming etc. Was running a bit rich, but it sure seems like it will be good once it gets a few more flights.
I've since got...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Thanks Scott!
I've got a 4mm x 0.7 and 4mm x 0.75 tap and neither seem to fit- maybe they're no good or I've got to find another pitch.
Thanks for your help!

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hi guys,
I'm having trouble sizing the spinner bolt hole on my 150, I assume it's metric, but does anyone know the exact thread size?

Thanks!

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Thanks Jeff, I also have a long long time to get fuel to the carb.

I'm hoping that it gets better with time. Just need some flying weather!

Also I was a bit surprised to see how sensitive...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Just a quick update and question...

Test ran the 150 on the Boomer this afternoon, and it's running spectacularly![sm=shades_smile.gif]

Xoar 26-16, 5580rpm, temp 25 degrees F. Exhaust is...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Hmmm.
That'll be no good. I assume it'll wind up another 1000rpm in the air though... that should be alright...
I'm actually going to test fly with the Xoar 26-16 that just arrived.

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Great info guys.
I'm going to check with my Sunoco dealer for the aspen fuel. Jeff are you running the 104 GTX in your Moki?? Is anyone noticing any detonation in their engines?
I see the Aspen...

I also saw the turbulator device earlier. I will also...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Thanks guys,
Pete, I'm running series 2000, rated and mixed at 50:1. Sure seems like a lot of oil, as I run the sabre at 100:1 in my other engines.
Thanks Mick, I did see that some pilots had...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

For those interested,

Just test ran the new 150, with AirModels 28-12 3 blade, and just roughly tuned in 0 degrees C weather, peaked at 4680 rpm.

Our MOKI test run sheet from the factory...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Got the new 150 mounted today (check out Rick's CNC mount!- less than 4 oz.!) and fired it up this afternoon.

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Thanks Doug,
I'm probably going to try the Xoar WWII 3-blade 24-16 or the 26-14 then, based on your numbers.

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Excellent discussion fellows.

Let's also hear from someone who has run specific brands of props. As we all know, Brand A 28-14 is a different animal altogether than Brand B 28-14.

I'm...

RE: MOKI RADIAL Care and Maintenence

Scott, I'm also very interested in the 3 blade for our new 150-
I understand the Solo prop is the way to go. Just 'what size?'
We're going to do our initial run up with a 28-12 CF 3 blade I...
