It was the wood itself that broke width wise on both sides. [X(]

I was impressed that the servo was able to push against such high wind to the point of failure.

Havent been in this thread in a while...

Mine met the ground at well over 50mph on a dive when the elevator broke and poof! It was indeed spectacular. :D

Still have box cover decorating...

For that size motor I would go with either a 8X5 or 8X6.

thanks guys...

BTW...the 1700Kv motor is happy with the 7 x 5...looks small given the size of plane but who can tell when its spinning or when up in the air?:)

Repaired and took for a spin yesterday...LHS only had one prop each...a 7 x 4 and 7 x 5.


Tried the 7 x 4 first as it was ready for shaft and despite motorcalcs recommendation just did not cut...

Today took her for a spin...screw came off elev horn...she took a dive from 15ft going at least 30mph. [:o]

Damage report:

Landind wire bent but was straighten out. This area of insertion...

well...downloaded motorcalc...something I should have done prior...doh!

no doubt this was not the best choice motor for it...but it will do for now

weekend was too windy to maiden SS...so...

^nah...just like the clean look...it does have some yellow on the bottom and a couple of stickers to help spot it.:D

well...the Atlas brushless arrived and for the price plus all mounting...

After years of flying the mini SS, both stock and modified, I finally decided to get this larger SS at $105 delivered.:D

I have no intentions of using the stock power items on...
