RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Over greasing the solid part of the drive shaft in the strut causes extra strain on the motor which = heat. I usually lightly grease the flex shaft portion and use 3 in 1 oil on the strut portion of...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

One reason you may be getting so much vibration in the blue SV17 may be because the stock flex cables are ofter put together way out of balance. Where the flex part of the cable is soldered into the...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

BL motors do NOT like to be run unloaded...as in free spinning in thin air... regardless of whether or not you have artificial cooling. There have been a few threads about this you can search for. ...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

See the SV27 water cooling thread. Contact Tim Atkins <[email protected]> for one similar to mine.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I agree. Unless you are going to compete with your SV27, the left side fin is a must. I am guessing you will loose a whopping 0.1 MPH with the extra drag of the extra fin. Most of the flip video...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

RE: shaft end heat...it may be a high friction drive line in your boat. Do this. Pull your shaft, take off the prop nut, prop, and drive dog and inspect it for balance. Put it on a table and roll...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

This prop is for a 5mm shaft. The last time I checked the SV27 has a 3/16" prop shaft which is 4.5mm in diameter. I guess you could put a sleeve on it to tighten it up to 4.5mm

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I'm not sure you should use a screw on prop with the SV27. While you can make it work, you really need a drive dog on one end and a nut on the other to handle the sheer power and torque of the BL...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Very nice. Put 12c IB4200's in there and then you'll know why they are so expensive. Trust me, it makes a big difference. It is cool that even with lower output packs that the 642 can still put...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

X642 pics. It's only 2mm bigger in diameter than the stock 40 but it looks a lot bigger with those aggressive pitched blades.

Thanks again to John Noetzelmann ([email protected]) for his...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

How many people have sanded their hulls as suggested by Grim and if so, did it really make that much difference?

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Sounds like the radio problems being discussed in this thread and the other one have really only happened to a few people. Strange...only a handful of people with a few specific issues. I've had my...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

What antenna type did you use? I've got one that I've been wanting to put on but without a flat surface on the back of the boat the screw part of the mount just seems too big to go on a rounded...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Ron, I was too afraid to use a cut off wheel to make a flat spot on a drive shaft so I used a metal file. I was also concerned if I went too deep it would affect the balance of the shaft as well as...

I also...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I hear you. I replaced my drive dog after it broke with a beefy Octura one from OE. I also replaced the rest of the drive line with real Octura parts including the entire flex shaft (poor balance...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I have a set of those too (for my old Super Hawaii) that never got used. I thought they were too big for a 27" boat but what the heck...if they work...they work. I also kind of like the all metal...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Great idea. I'd buy it. As long as the general look is the same.
