RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

If I understand you correctly, your thinking is, as they say, bass ackwards. Say a given plane balances AND FLIES correctly at 100cm and you move the the balance point to 110cm the nose will hang...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

Looking good, but if you don't want any play in the throttle, I suggest to get rid of the connector on the servo arm and go with someting else. I have never seen one of those type connectors that...

Using wood screws to fasten your engine mount is simply asking for trouble. They will come loose. Get some blind nuts in there and use bolts.

Yeah, don't let the crabby old farts get you down. After all, flying RC isn't a matter of life or death....................it's far more important than that.[sm=wink_smile.gif]

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

The AMA lists 8 clubs within 25 miles of Katy, TX. http://www.modelaircraft.org/clubsearch.aspx Have you tried to hookup with any of them? Most clubs have training programs and good instructors to...

Yup, you've heard it before, a nose heavy plane flies lousy, a tail heavy plane flies once.

All this gasser talk might be fine and dandy, but I just gotta have the 4 cycle sound. What does the Saito gasser sound like???

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

A friend at our club just finished the Aeroworks Edge. He hasn't flown it yet, but it is a good looking plane. Looks to be very well constructed and quite strong. I didn't like the one piece wing...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

I've got the YS 110-S in mine. It's a great combo. I like the looks of the Edge over the Extra, but then that's just me.

Jim,
Nice job. I like the wing graphics. How about some close-ups of your 'custom-deluxe elevator rigging'.

Ouch. Sorry for your loss.
Don't write that fuse off, from the picture, it looks like a easy straight forward repair.
Several guys at the field have the Spektrum systems. They have all had...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

Try some Cool Power 30% helicopter fuel. It'll give you a higher top end and a more reliable idle. You'll need to adjust the needles a little. It also has 20% to 22% oil. The YS engines love this...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

Nope. The LHS doesn't have one, so I'll have to add it on to my next Tower order. I do think that a 16x8 will be the one to use, though.

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

I''ve got a 16x6 on mine and it still revs a little high. I''m going to try a 16x8 next time I get to the LHS. That''s with 30% Cool Power.

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

As for #1, I used them under the wing bolts

As for #2, Get some light weight clear plastic sheet maybe as thick as a couple sheets of paper. Tape it to the fuse so it covers the engine and...

RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68" (60-90) ARF New v2- Building

I usually use a small piece of fuel tubing, about 1/4" long. I've never had a clevis come loose.
