RE: Larger Revolver

Jett, we are on public park property and the field is open to everyone. We fly it all.

RE: Larger Revolver

Overpowering will do it easily, even with throttle management. Larger engines bring in weight stress, too. A friend of mine 2 years back flew his H9 Hellcat 60 with a Zenoah 20cc in it. He went...

RE: Larger Revolver

microdon2 - sorry to hear about your giant-scale coming apart. Honest mistake, though. Don't you hate it when the MFR doesn't include good instructions and you have to go by an advertising picture...

RE: Larger Revolver

Finances keep me mainly in the 2S line of engines. I can tell you this, some engines, even with a pump or regulator, will NEVER run inverted. My OS .46FX wouldn't stay running inverted, but my...

RE: Larger Revolver

Slow and Steady & others, I started doing the same to strengthen rods against flex. My WM Tucano 60 nose gear steering rod has the same problem of flexing using the stock rod & white sleeve. I...

RE: Larger Revolver

I love 12 minutes flights. I hate 260-320cc tanks! I'm at the field to fly, and fly hard! Not to putt.... [:'(]
I swap out almost all of my stock tanks on 2S to get more flight time. 12-20 oz...

RE: Larger Revolver

these are nice, and easy to use/maintain. Not flimsy when you stress out the control surfaces, either. I have them on the rudders of 2 planes, and ailerons of 1 of them. WORKING GREAT.

RE: Larger Revolver

microdon2 check your JB Weld every couple of flights. 2 guys at my field tried that with their YS 110s and it cracked loose in several flights.

RE: Larger Revolver

the Revolver is listed as 8.5-9.25 lbs w/a 70" wingspan. The GP Big Stick 60 is listed as 6.5 lbs w/a 66.5" wingspan. Quite a weight difference, then add in the front cowl girth and wingspan...

RE: Larger Revolver

pryor808 - I don't have a problem w/technology. I said that I used the NiMH batts now.
wjcalhoun - I agree w/you. LiFePo4 should be better in the long run for RX batts in the larger nitro...

RE: Larger Revolver

I've had good luck with this battery & my LHS usually stocks it for no more the $3 more. Sometimes the same price.

RE: Larger Revolver

I'll bet it would be quite a speedster. A friend of mine decided not to buy another YS 1.10 and put the 120AX with a straight header and no muffler on his WM .46 size Mustang, which usually weigh in...

RE: Larger Revolver

Yeah, give it some air to stay cool.
I saw a spinner wobbling really bad one day because the prop was touching the spinner on both blades. We made the guy shut the plane down and take a dremel to...

RE: Larger Revolver

Thanks Slats! I didn't think it would be much, but I did hear a video with one installed on a 4S and it did sound great!!! Still, 300 RPMs can make a diff on the right plane. :D

RE: Larger Revolver

How much does the Turbo Muffler bump the RPMs on your SAITO 1.00? I have a H9 Spitfire 60 with this engine installed and am curious whether it would be worth the price to replace the stock muffler...

RE: Larger Revolver

I have a WM Spot On 50 Pattern plane that uses pull-pull. I am going to give it the maiden flight tomorrow. The system seems very good. I'm thinking of using it on my GP Extra 300 SP (46 size)...

RE: Larger Revolver

wjcalhoun;
I've seen a Large Revolver at my field running a 75AX w/a 13x6 APC. It was doing well, even 250' climbs, Outside & Inside Loops in a 10mph wind, & 300' climbs, running 15% Nitro...

RE: Larger Revolver

Sonny,
we all appreciate your flight reports. Like you said before, it sounds like it definitely needs the 1.20 FS if you want a 4S. I hate having to use full throttle at the top of an inside...
