If you would like to see an easy method of fabricating semi-fowler flaps, Go to the H9 PA18 web page and look at the Instruction Manual to see this method as used on their flap installation.

Cub Yellow Paint

I have found that Top Flite Cub Yellow # TORR 7518 is an almost perfect match for the H9 J3. It take 5-6 coats to get the color match.

I have flown my Cub on floats with a Saito 125 using a 16-8 prop. The flights are very scale.

The JR gyro should work for you. I use them and have had no problems. The Futaba will probably work well also.

Better quality gyros will not offset the surface they are connected to. Also better quality gyros will allow the the gain to be set from the transmitter. Unfortunately, once again the old adage...

The single lead connects to the signal pin on the channel you want to use to control the gain. Talk to a helicopter guy for setup info.

Yep, you're right. I am using a 1350 MaH LiFePO4 2 cell pack with a 5.2 volt voltage regulator in each float. CG came out right on the button with no additional weight.
