RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Yeah, lexan bodies are still available. Search tower for 'lexan parma lunch box' or something.

Paint the hard body classic yellow. Then do something cool & adventurous on the lexan one.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

More than one person in this thread has used the Traxxas shocks that are stock for the Stampede for this.

I'm not sure if there's any adapting that needs to be done in order for it to work...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

No. :(

That might make it a halfway competent handler, and therefore rob it of some level of challenge.

It is basically a Hornet with no oil shocks in the rear, bigger tires, and a van...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Here's what the Lunch Box looks like on a rough wood chip trail, if you're curious.

540 motor, "friction dampers"

Oh, one other thing you...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Hey, welcome to the club. I'm not sure if it is the short shocks or long shocks that are needed for the LB.

If you really want to keep the "feel" of the Lunch Box, you should leave the spring...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Well, if it were me, I'd just invest in the Parma body from Tower before you scratch up the pretty one. Then, keep the pretty one for nighttime running and for show, and use the polycarbonate one for...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Wow, sharp-looking Lunch Boxes from the UK.

Not even any scratches on the wheely bar yet, Wow.

You're going to cry first time you roll that over and scratch through that beautiful black paint...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

5000 kv is awfully fast for a Lunch Box. I'd think 3500-4200 would be PLENTY fast.

Lunchboxer, that brushless you had in your Lunch Box in 2007, wasn't that 5700 kv? That was too fast by at least...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Wow, 80-90%? Where did you get that figure?

Any country that taxed that much wouldn't have any citizens.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Mr. Stig: Welcome to RCU and to the Lunch Box Squad. You'll like it, even though it will seem completely incompetent compared to the Bigwig.

The big, airy tires go a long way toward making the...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Great video. Next time, trying wheelying up onto the curb. You may not be able to climb up it, once you get the front end up, but at least you have a chance, hehehe.

Yeah, too bad about the...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

KaChow- I can see you're pretty excited about your Lunch Box. It is geared for mad torque; that's why it wheelies so easily. The top speed is fast enough to have fun, but not out of control. If they...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Well, tell your dad he's welcome to the club. You're not. You only have a Firestorm Flux. ;)

Long run times is right. I go about 30-40 minutes on a 3600 mAh 3 cell NiMH pack with mine...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I have to say Stampede killer, that is one tired-looking Lunch Box. Is that the one you "kill Stampedes" with? :D

Just a bit of teasing. It probably runs better than mine due to the upscale...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

IMO, if you feel like you need to put more than 4 shocks on it, you should be considering another truck; one that has proper indpendent rear suspension, and just put a van body on it. Much easier...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

My first video of my Lunch Box. Look at that baby pogo around! It feels fast, just because it is very nearly out of control all the time. :D

The conundrum is that if I upgrade the shocks, then...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

I brought the 'box down to my Mom's yesterday, had a ball.

I went to the baseball diamond and started running it around. This is pretty smooth surface, and the "friction dampers" were adequate...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

Axl probably has an employees whose sole job is to search the internet for their song names.

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

The post man just delivered my Lunch Box today.

I got down to business right away, and installed all the bearings. Next, I cut off the Molex connectors and put on proper Deans'.

Finally, it...

RE: Return of Lunchbox..

This will sound bad, but I like the off-screen crash in the earlier one. It sounded just horrible, but that is probably just due to the hard shell it has.
