RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

I got mine at ofnawarehouse.com, the $80 price at the time was a clearance price of sorts. They're out now, and all I've seen is what you're seeing - overpriced on ebay. I guess just keep checking,...

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

I still run mine (just ran it in the snow), but mine's electric, so I can't help on nitro engine size.

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

Seriously? You're going to jam a 1/8 motor into this 1/12? I guess you'll put the drive train to the test. :)

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

Last I checked, OfnaWarehouse stopped selling them. Maybe ebay? I'm pessimistic that price will be reasonable there though, if it's not elsewhere on the web.

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

Sorry, but usually I'm dead on. Guy had only 1 or 2 posts, and his post was an ad - sorry if I jumped the gun, but I've seen that LOT here, and 99% of the time it's a no-good spammer.

My...

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

Ah, wait - so you screw the tray to the spacers in one hole, and then attach the spacer to the chassis plate through the other hole! Nice. Wish I had done that. Maybe time to drill a few more...

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

Yeah, I had to brute force that thing too. I guess once it's on, it's solid!

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

I'm curious about the battery box too - could you provide pics of the inside of the battery box? How do you keep the screws from bumping into the battery?

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

I'm pretty happy with the geolandars so far. 4" outer diameter, 2" width, FYI.

Of course, it's frying my little 19T motor, but I figured that would happen.

Ah, you're going 3s too. I get it. 5s would be insane on this little guy.

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

Let us know how that goes! Won't 2700 kv be a bit low?

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

Yep, Geolandars! Not sure how they stack up to 1/8 buggy tires (these are 2" wide, 4" OD). But 3500 or so sounds reasonable, I'll give that a shot.

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

Sticking with 2s. Any need to drop lower than 4000 kV with my 14T pinion, given that I'm frying my lowly 19T brushed motor a bit over 190 F with these tires? :D

I just don't wanna buy a 4000...

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

So far I'm loving this thing - I've run it a handful of times - on a baseball diamond, on scrubby grass (beat down soccer field), mulch, dirt, some pavement. I've cartwheeled it several times, but...

RE: Ofna Jammin CRT.5 1/12 Truggy Build Thread and E-Conversion

Interesting idea - I must say thought that SCT's don't really appeal to me. Although I must admit the Ofna SCT looks pretty good - I guess I feel like others just look so bloated - they try to look...
