RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Im using a saito 56 4-stroke and I didnt add any weight to the tail. You could use a saito 72 or 82 to get the vertical with basically the same results.

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

The black pipe used on my saito 56 on the PTS P-51 does taper a little yes...the only problem is, it only fits the saito 56 and any saito using no more then a .56 cylinder(aka 100TI, 170 radial).

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

The engine actually runs better without the normal muffler. In fact, I had it set at the needles with the muffler for about 9500RPM's(saito 56 spinning 11x8 MAS). Once I put the black pipe on, I...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

I ran a MAS 11x7x3 prop on my first PTS with stock motor just fine with no problems at all. Flew great.

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

The current version I have now(for training son) does not have the evo .455 PTS motor as seen in the photo, so there's very little sticking out of the cowl. Instead, its got a saito 56 with an 11x8...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

I ran my first one with an 11x7x3 MAS prop using the stock evo .455 motor. You could easily use a 10x7x3 to keep from losing RPM's relative to the 11x7 2 blade you got now. it would be basically the...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

No, I didnt have much issue at all. If they seem a little close or too far apart(the bolts), start the longest one in first and then angle the tail assembly somewhat to get the other one in and...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

On your 6 channel radio.....if you want working flaps and it NOT function like flaperons, your not gonna be able to connect left wing channel 1 and right wing channel 6. On your radio, channel 6 is...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Change the prop from the stock 10x4x3 to an 11x6 2-blade, or 10x7 3-blade(an 11x7 3-blade will work too). Do not go bigger then an 11" diameter

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

I agree with Viper. Once you take the droops off, the plane will react exactly like a sport scale warbird and can and will tip stall more easily. You really dont gain any speed taking them off, but...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

If you get an electric starter, I suggest one with its own battery you attach to the starter itself. If you use one that requires connecting it up to a 12volt DC battery in a field box, that can...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

2-stroke motors, especially smaller ones have a tendency to run backwards when hand started. It is not something that is wrong with the motor. Simply throttle up some using the throttle stick on your...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

This plane in the RTF form is fine as it comes out of the box in most cases. However, that being said, some people have run into issues as mentioned. Mine was fine out of the box and flew decent...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Pit-Viper...the engine in the PTS Mustang is NOT the .46NT. It is the Evolution Trainer Power System: A which is a .455 size engine.

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Yes, run more tanks through it. It sounds like it is too rich to me if its hesitating when you advance the throttle and the cuts out at full. At least this was the problem on my engine(evo .46NT)...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

The hobbyshop guy is full of crap. Giving you a retract servo to function as a flap servo is pretty indicative that he is not working on all cylinders or he is just plain clueless as to how retract...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Looks good, but be careful with your ground clearance. A 13 inch diameter prop should be ok, but on rough landings, you will likely scrape it.

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Regarding prop selection. Its a matter of preference. The stock prop with this plane is a 10x4 3-blade. It is meant to keep the plane slow, especially with the wide aspect of the blades themselves....

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

The rx that comes with the RTF version is a 5-channel only. So, the 5th channel is your flap channel. Plug the servo into that one. it should say GEAR on the rx(or AUX). Do not put too much flap...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

You will be fine using the 11x7. In fact, I was using an 11x7 3-blade MAS prop on mine. the two blade willo fly the plane slightly faster then a three blade of same diameter and pitch, but for scale...

RE: New Hanger 9 p-51 mustang **Trainer?!?**

Everything is tight and the mains spin fine. It isn't just a veer to the right either. I cannot guess which way it'll want to veer before each and every take off. Sometimes its left, sometimes its...
