A pack with a dented cell should be replaced as the dent is putting a pressure point on the separator system which will lead to a premature short in that cell.

You didn't by chance have the voltmeter in the current measurement mode did you? If not then you had a short somewhere in the pack, probably external to the cells and shorting the complete pack....
