I made a trip to the local hardware store and scrounged through their selection of small springs until I found one about the right diameter & length. I also purchased some black heat shrink tubing...

Looks like it is coming along nicely. Have you tried making the oxygen hose according to the instructions for the pilot yet? I can save you a lot of time and mess in making the hose if you have not...

I can't say for sure what the weight gain is. I did not weigh all the individual components, but I suspect roughly between 7 to 10 ounces. I just knew I wanted something better than...

As far as operation, the setup works great. IMHO, it is by far superior to the spring wire & spectra string called out for in the instructions. The drawback is as you mentioned...the weight penalty. ...

I too have one of the CBM F-16's that's been stored away for several years. Construction was going pretty good, and for whatever reason, I lost interest. It is now listed in the Buy/Sell section...
