RE: Seagull Edge 540 - 68

Another thought. Sloppy linkages, and warn gears will cause this too. You said you've been flying it for a year or so...gears could have been shot and just finally gave.

Did you seal your hinge gaps? If they are not tight enough it will cause surface flutter, thus destroying the gear train on the servo's or jsut tearing the stab half off.

I wonder if they used heavier wood in the back of yours. This stuff happens from time to time with arf's. I have a plane which recommends a .15 and I have a .25 in it and needed 2 ozs of lead...

Why a drug scale? They sell nice gram scales on the bay for 20 bucks at your door. I bought 2 of them and no drugs.......

I understand where I misunderstood the concept now. No genius here but I grasp it now. Thanks for breaking it down....be too long since my last math class....

Did you try a light tailwheel also? It may seem small but 3 foot from cg makes a big difference. Going the pull pull route will probably take care of it but who knows.

There is always the option of pulling the covering off and start cutting excess fat in the tail. It is not all that hard to do but it more time consuming than adding lead.
