RE: New Carden Yak.

Good talking with you earlier today John. Your plane is a work of art! I talked to Tom this afternoon and he's going to get back to me after talking to Greg. Thanks again for your help.

Also,...

RE: New Carden Yak.

It flies fantastic Ward! Very neutral, the most axial plane I've ever flown. Still have a lot of tweaking to do though. CG, motor thrust, throws, expo and all that fun stuff (and the stuff I'm not...

RE: New Carden Yak.

Yep, that plane was at the Toledo show. I got the phone number for the gentleman that owns it from Caroline. I'm going to call him tomorrow and see where he got them. Good thing as the Comp Arf...

RE: New Carden Yak.

I'll get a picture out to you tonight. The wheels are the Kavan 5" and the chrome covers are from Kavan as well. I ordered them directly from Sig. The wheels are VERY light. However, a friend of...

RE: New Carden Yak.

Thanks Frank, I called Dennis this a.m. and he was telling me about yours and where it balanced. I'm glad I called. Last night's measurement around the CG on the plans would mean finding room...

RE: New Carden Yak.

Can anyone share their Imac CG for the Carden Yak? I'm ready to balance mine in the next day or two. Dennis isn't in on the weekends otherwise I'd call him.

Thanks...........Mark

RE: New Carden Yak.

I have to cover the wings and horiz stabs, then paint the cowl and canopy. Hoping to have it done in the next few weeks. Work, family stuff, Imac and flying have me tied up and not being able to...

RE: New Carden Yak.

Yes, he did the gear also. Every little bit of weight helps. If you want to get it done, I'd call him soon. He does a lot of motorcycle work and this is his busy time. The sooner you get on his...

RE: New Carden Yak.

Yep, definately quality machine work. I was up at Jim's shop and picked up my other set for my Extra yesterday. This set is even better than the first! Plus about a gram lighter.

Hey Ward, I sent you a P-mail

Also, if anyone else is interested in a set, Jim might have some available from the first batch. $30 for a set of four. (plus a few bucks freight) Let me know. ...

RE: New Carden Yak.

Well, I got the gear back from being polished and the hatch glassed in (Thanks again Albert!) so it finally looks like a plane. Some final sanding and I'm ready to start covering. Can't wait to...

RE: New Carden Yak.

Let me check with Jim and see if he'll make up some more and if so how much. By two sets, do you mean two pair or four pair?

RE: New Carden Yak.

The washer on the back is a conical shaped washer with a rubber washer attached (found them at Lowes). I've used these before to prevent the screw from backing out from vibration.

RE: New Carden Yak.

Here's what I ended up with to solve the wing bolt problem (i.e. not being able to get a balldriver in there). A friend of mine made me a set of aluminum thumb wheels. They turned out awesome. I...

RE: New Carden Yak.

What are you guys doing to be able to reach the front wing bolts on the Yak? The tank is in the way for the most part. It'll get worse as I'm making a removable tray for a smoke system where the...

RE: New Carden Yak.

Yes, I'd say it is based on the size of the wheel itself. I got mine directly from Pete Models. Peirre calls it the heavy duty one, Troybuilt lists it by plane size. Agian, not sure on the weight...

Bryan, do you have any picutres under the canopy? Also, if you could share set ups (i.e. servos and quantities) that would be appreciated.

I would have never thought those cowl checkers are...

Best of luck with the new Yak.
