Pete,
You will need to put most, if not all your batteries up in the nose for CG purposes. You will probably also need extensions. I added a small door forward of the ladder door for access to the...

Thanks Jack....reminds me of the good old days. That gun sure was fun to shoot. Notice that the firing bursts are fairly short. If you held the trigger more than about a second, the torque of the...

Fantastic airplane Stan and REALLY nice flying! I think you would have been a good full scale A-10 pilot.

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

Hello Stan,

I don't remember the ladder on the A-10 being electric and definately not hydraulic. I thought it just fell open and was pushed back up manually, usually by the crew chief after the...

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

Don't mean to be too technical but those are actually flare dispensers and not vents.

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

Hello Stan,
I have never seen a MIBO A-10 that did not have up-trim elevator. My personal opinion is that it is not a CG issue but probably a slight mis-match between the stab and wing incidence. I...

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

It's tough to use 600 (or any other type of sandpaper) because of all the raised rivets. Mine had a pretty good gel coat finish, so after I cleaned up some of the seams I just scuffed up everywhere...

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

Dean,

You are regarded as one of, if not THE original, A-10 r/c pioneer. You were an A-10 guy before it was "cool". Your opinion is always welcome and respected!

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

You are exactly right Stan. I saw one of these on Ebay recently and the opening bid was amost $500! (nobody bid on it). I have never seen another cockpit so detailed and I don't know of any way for...

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

Dean,

Some of these guys are hanging 36lb thrust and higher turbines on their A-10's, WAY more potential asymetric thrust than the DF's or early turbines you were probably using. Losing one on...

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

Looks like a good fix Stan. Fortunate that the damage was only to the lower side of the wing and within the landing gear pod.

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

Stan,

I heard the 777 had this feature. Take's all the fun out of practicing V1 cuts in the simulator!

I agree with Jack that it may be difficult to find/operate that switch during a...

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

Mark,

The Gen 3 and earlier had a single unit for both nacelles that was either glued or screwed to an opening in the fuselage. The Gen 4 nacelles attach individually via 2 metal tubes/sleeves,...

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

Water based paint for an airliner......wonder who thought of that? Probably some bean-counter trying to save a euro.

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

Geez Stan...........looks like Air France needs to spend some Euros on a few buckets of paint. I mean, there's "weathering" and then there's plain trashy. I'm just sayin......

Stan,

Your pictures need no further explanation. Another very clever modification! Where were you guys when I was building my A-10 years ago?

Clever modification and smart of you to have a way to remove the big door. Hopefully you can get to the hinge wire with the door closed. I mention that because on one occasion during...

RE: 4th gen A-10 by Mibo jets

Sam,

The MIBO uses standoff hinge supports to create a pivot point down and aft of the flaps leading edge. Its not how the full scale is hinged but you don't see the standoffs from the top and...
