Wingwrecker, yeah, I was worried about the same thing. Took it apart and found out the connection for the starter goes right to the battery. Just make sure you pay attention to polarity.

Yeah, I just charge my GP Master Caddy through the 12 volt plugs I use for my starter. It's a direct connection to the battery.
