RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

Yeah there are quite a few, especially in different countries ... this plane has been rebadged by EGO models, Parkflyers.com and many others and they have often supplied their own electronics. ...

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

Yep mine too ... I bought the EGO version from Hstore.com.au for about $40 ... included servo.

All I had to do was connect it to the receiver and make a few adjustments (loosen the screws that...

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

I too once lost a plane in a tree in the park at the end of my street. I ended up waiting until Autumn (Fall for our American friends) and luckily happened to do my semi regular check on a windy day...

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

I did the same thing once with the elevator control ... was using the same radio for 2 planes, one of which requires the elevator to be reversed. You can imagine a cessna at take off speed...

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

Unfortunately this weekend I am going camping. I say unfortunately because the weather prediction is pretty dreary!

Looks like high winds all weekend anyway :(

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

Yep I'm in Sydney ... I would love to but I live in Alexandria and work in Crows Nest ... so it's a fair drive for me, and a bit hard to justify on a work day :)

But if you do one on a weekend I...

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

Excellent, well done, you won't be sorry!

I plan to rebuild mine into a new fuselage soon (when I finally have a crash that can't be fixed!) .. I'm looking at a different mounting method next...

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

Well most chargers (including the swallow) can only discharge at 1 amp max anyway - this is much less than your plane would be drawing, so should be fine. However I remember reading somewhere that...

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

No the wires shouldn't spin, that would be chaos!

Mine is pretty similar ... I am currently using an APC 9x6 but also had success with GWS 9050 and 8040 props.

There are some...

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

My comment would be that the 2408-21 should be fast enough for anyone!

Have you seen Jaskel's video of his Cessna with 2408-21?

I have the...

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

Well it depends if you're likely to be in this for the long term. If so, I would advise you to get a swallow charger advanced for about $100. This will keep your batteries in much better health,...

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

Wow that's bad news!

I use my 2408-21 with a 30 amp TowerPro ESC (I like to have a bit spare) ... I've used it with many different props and am currently using a 9x6 APC-E .... (couldn't find a...

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

Thanks Harry, that sounds like a worthwhile mod - I can't take off from the ground where I fly as it's rough grass, hopefully this will help.

RE: Art-Tech 3Ch Cessna 182 RC Radio Control Plane

I second that .. I charge Lipos (2 and 3 cell), Nicads, NimH and Lead Acid battery with my swallow, and it always works well. Only thing to note is it works off 12v so you need a 12VDC power supply....
