We have found for running them on rough concrete/ asphalt to stiffen up all the shocks and run 80 weight oil.

we have about 5 rustlers racing on asphalt/concrete mix..........
the anaconda tires seem to be the best for handling and durability.

We change everything to deans ultra......... the charger too.

the standard connectors that come with these cars cannot supply the amp draw for modern modified motors and brushless set-ups.

you can get a iron and solder and stuff at radio shack for about $15 or less..... (or sears)

The deans connectors are $3-$4 a pair........

I had a good time running my Rustler at Rodslinger Raceway in Williamson GA. (with MPI Baja Body)
Its more of a Monster truck track. But I did okay.

Mine too is wider in the rear.
I'm using RPM Y spoke wheels and am not very happy with them.
The front wheels rub the A-arms at full deflection. (our track requires full deflection)

I finally added the Integy heat sink and fan to my Rustler.
I have the Orion 17 turn BB motor.

This really cooled her down on a 20-25 minute run with a 4200 NiMeHi.

I bought one of these batteries (see link) and even though it was a pain to grind the battery compartment a little bigger, it was worth it.
This battery kicks butt.

The deans connectors will give less resistance and send even more more power (and hence heat) to the motor. (normally a good thing)

Those are 2.2" pro-line dirt works on the rear.

they are also proline wheels. they give the car a little wider stance to boot (I'm not sure of the part number on the wheels

I've used anacondas on the rear and they do okay, but at times there is a dust like silt on the asphalt and the anaconda boys are spinning out and Im driftin right on through at the same speed.

I finally got my MPI Baja Bug Body painted and installed on my Rustler. I'm very pleased with the results. Seems a shame to race it in that demolition derby we call a race at work.
