RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

That's why you can't go straight to a smaller spur gear without changing the diff ring and pinion gears. The stock ones are made for having a 66T spur gear. Going down 20 or so teeth can be...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

Make sure to change the diff and pinion gears if you do the small gear conversion to the HB gears.

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

Most of the problems long ago on the TRs are resolved with newer parts. You can upgrade as you go to make it better of course. Upgrades that are recommended by most, including me, are the CNC front...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

Unfortunately, I don't think the new pro truggy will be out by Christmas. Although it probably won't be far after. You never know though..it might be out sooner. The new buggy is just about out...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

Kind of..but definitely not enough to start up a truck more than once. You will need a charger for it if you're going to get a box and battery. I use a standard wall charger, and it's only like...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

You don't have to get a whole new box if that's what you were going to do. Find the problem and fix it with a new battery/motor/charger, or whatever.
Good luck

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

Woah, yeah...your high speed needle looks WAY leaned out. I think the stock is 4 turns out, which is about flush with the top. Set all the needles to stock setting (should be in your manual) and...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

Take off the air filter and inspect the carb opening. There should only be a 1mm gap. Next, check the radio. Turn on the car and radio (don't start the engine) and inspect the controls to make...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

The stock shocks in my Arena actually perform very well. They don't leak, and they're smooth. If you want to jump on the bandwagon, get the jammin big bores, or wait for the new CEN big bores, or...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

It is still a smart idea to clean out ANY new motor you get because there is a chance that there could be some debris from the machining. I didn't clean out my SH .28, but it ran fine and is still...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

Are you talking about what upgrades to get? If so, you will probably want the CNC steering knuckles. IMO, the best upgrade for the truck. They will never break, and allow a hell of a lot more...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

The CEN shocks are actually very good IMO. Just be sure to maintain them by checking for air bubbles, inspecting shock shaft, etc. I have only replaced oil once, and I don't have bubbles, and the...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

I personally never had a problem, EVER! Started on the first pull when I get it, and starts right up on the box when I want it to. I'm at about 7 gallons on it now, and it's still running strong. ...

That's the backplate that fit's perfectly without mods. Remember that you will need a starter box if you use this kind of backplate.

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

Make sure that your tank is loose enough for you to move it around slightly. There are rubber grommets where you mount the tank, and they should not be too flat because of overtightened screws. ...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

Unless all you will be doing is bashing, and 2 speed is not a good idea. All race truggies and buggies have one speed because it is the lightest and simplest connection from motor to wheels, and the...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

If you need more on power steering, you need a thicker front oil. Gene's recommendation is to run the LSD up front with 80wt gear oil from the auto shop. I am yet to try this set up, but according...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

I haven't had problems with the tank, but there is a screw on the underside of the cap on the tank that can be tightened to make the rubber O ring wider and seal better. If that's not the problem,...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

With the small gear conversion, the engine is moved closer to the center to account for the small gear. If you use the buggy radio tray, the throttle servo can be lowered about a centimeter or more....

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

The truck looks great wrob. For servos, you shouldn't need to spend too much. IMO, the best servos for steering would be the hitec 5955. I definitely think it's worth it to upgrade to that servo. ...

RE: Cen Matrix Tr Arena

Make sure that all of the hinge pins (inner and outer) are straight and not bent or out of place. Also make sure trims are right on the steering turnbuckle and radio.
