RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

REALLY fast for a very short time...then in stops, doesn't work anymore and has a funny burning smell you'll never get rid of.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Wow they sure look good black!

I have been using a Futaba 3PM FM on my SV with no problems at all, plenty of range and no glitching. The 2.4ghz version has got to work even better.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Yup, there it is. It may be a bit snug, but it does slide out of there once you need to replace it.

I guess I was a little off with the metric conversion. 50mm...yeah, that's what I meant!

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

It actually slides up inside of that brass tube. The inside of the brass tube is much larger than the propeller shaft, so this bushing is slid into the last couple inches (50cm) of the brass tube.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

It's the strut bushing. It's inside the strut.

Not enough info? The strut is the shaft that the propeller drive shaft runs inside of (it sticks out of the back of the boat about 2 inches). ...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I believe that. I've heard of people hitting 40mph with an X440 3 blade (on a very well sharpened and balanced prop)...I couldn't do it, but it has been done.

Definitely! The best...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Ok, so I have 2 SV motors sitting here, and I took a good look at them.

The shaft is sticking out two different amounts on the two different motors.

The one I've been using has the motor...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

That sounds...WRONG!!!

When I got a replacement motor from hobby services, it wasn't a new motor, but the shaft certainly did not move in and out! I'd be willing to bet that all your problem...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I'd be surprised if anyone sees 50 with this hull at all. The problem is, if you aim the tabs down too low, the back end of the boat will lift too high, and the nose will dig in when you turn. Of...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Those look really good. The site says you can also charge them at 10 amps when using a balancer. I've been thinking about which Lipo's would be best, since there doesn't seem to be any clear leader...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I second that one. The CF45 is a nice quick prop that needs no balancing, it will make the boat jump right out of the water, and it won't overheat the batteries.

I have a Prather 220, while it...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

It's the stock propeller that is causing you quite a bit of trouble. If you are using battery packs that don't have a lot of punch, it can take forever for the boat to get on plane. The quick fix...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

The plain old cheap electrical tape works fine for me. I haven't tried hockey tape, but have seen it used on other boats and it looks good too.

I would not recommend the Aquacraft Grimracer...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

That boat looks great. Do you think the decals will stand up to repeated hatch tape and removal though? They do seem to go across the split line, and some tape might peel them up when you remove...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Yeah I found that out on this boat I long time ago.

The problem is that the average person that sees "ready to run" on the box believes it.

This boat performs at such a high level, and...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I got the Grimracer 3 blade today. It sure is shiny right out of the package, and no, it's NOT balanced. No problem though...

One thing is a little odd though. They tumble the props to remove...

Yeah, the one with the 2 boats worked out really well. The only secret to getting good pics, is a separate person snapping the pics, and taking LOTS of shots.

Here are a couple more from 2...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Sort of off topic, but still SV related, here are a couple of pics of last weekend.

I ran into someone else at the pond with a red SV27, and got a pic of the two in action.

The other pic is...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Thanks for the heads up. I've had good results with an aluminum X642, but they a little too fraglie for my liking. The CF props will probably weigh even less, and are cheaper, and much easier to...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I've had good results with an Octura X642...I've seen some vids with some of those carbon filled props (48mm I think), and they look even better, in a straight line anyway. They have been out of...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

The glitching from the stock radio caused me to break my stock prop...it turned out to be a good thing, because that gave me a chance to try some aftermarket ones that really woke things up.

I...
