RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

AdamG, I'd also be interested in any info you have on the T-rex. I'm just finishing up my first one and I'm pulling my hair out... it's ooohhh so different from fixed wing[:@]! Can't seem to get my...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Moondoggie,
I also started out with the P-51 PTS and agree that the quality is crap. If you can fly that plane ok, you'll do fine on the twist. There are a few differences to get used to, but get...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Dutch,
You ever had any problems with your HiTec digital servos centering? I have them on my Yak and a buddy of mine did a little demonstration to show me how they "hunt". When I move the sticks...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Bruce,
Being that the Saito 100 and 125 are the same size because they use the same case (the way I understand it is that the 125 just uses a bigger cylinder) you can always switch them out if you...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Alright fellas,
A while back someone had replied to me with some info. on a T-rex they fly. I am now the proud owner of a T-rex 450 and have a few questions, problem is... everyone I seem to hear...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I dunno about the weight of mine, I'll have to check when I get her down off the ceiling of the garage next time I fly. Do you have an aftermarket tailwheel that's heavy? I've got one that's larger...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I agree with you 100% about the recommended range being nuts. Something still sounds weird that you had to add that much weight to get her balanced. I have the same set up and I'm figuring I might...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Bruce,
Something is definitely out of whack. I also am running the Saito 100 in my .60 and had to add 1 oz. of weight to the tail to get it balanced at 5 7/8" which is the front end of the mfr....

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Hey fellas,
I figured I'd post this here first for a few days, but to storage issues, I am being forced into parting with my Yak[:o]. I have a bigger plane on the way and the wife won the battle...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Dutch,
I have the Saito 100 in mine and personally wouldn't want anything less. It's gotten me out of trouble a few times and although I've not flown the .90, I'm pretty sure I'd rather rely on...

Waldo,
I know how much you like pictures so I figured I'd post a few from today's events. It seems there were more that a few other fellas who played hooky today. We had gorgeous weather today......

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Dutch,
Might also want to check into the new Spektrum modules if you currently have a higher end Futaba. I've been doing some research and they sound pretty cool. I have a Futaba 9C and am...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Dutch,
I have the .60 and have never flown the .40 size but there is about a half dozen of them (the .40) at our field. I love the .60, and the guys who have flown it that own the .40 like it as...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

I found something today that might peak the interest of a few "twisters". Might this be Hangar 9's "Twist 2"??? Looks like the same wing as the .60 size but a new fuse.

...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Funny thing about that... not a twist, but we had a guy at our field forget to put the bolts into the blind nuts for the wings on his Fliton Extra 330 last week. He got to the "lift off" point of...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Kerwin50,
T.W. is right, this thing will land straight down with a bit of wind and experience (not that I have that much). I "accidentally" did a very impressive looking harrier landing last week...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

T.W., you flying the .40 or the .60? Those prop sizes sound kinda big for a .40. I'm using a 14x6 on my .60 and she goes pretty good, but I've got a feeling that when I get to the point where I'm...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Lawdog,
I'm still sticking to my story... IMO, this is a great second plane. My twist .60 flies great with a Satio 100. Yes, she absolutely is a floater on landings, my first flight I went up,...

Lawdog131,
HELLLL NO!!! The T_ _ _T .60 was (is still) my 2nd plane and I love it. I started on a Hangar9 P-51 PTS, had about 2 dozen flights on it and went into my .60 with a Saito 100. I did...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Ok fellas, I have a question. No it is not about a T_ _ _T, but I seem to trust the info I get here. I am just finishing a Goldberg 67" YAK54 with an inverted Saito 125. Horizon Hobby told me I...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

Well, i got the T_ _ _ T .60 out today and took her to the field to enjoy a beautiful day of flying. Problem was, by the time I got there, got set up and walked to the airstrip (about 200 yards) boy...

RE: Hangar 9 Twist 3D Part II - Thread Continuation

WizzBang,
Nice to see someone somewhat local! Good to hear you could salvage your T _ _ _T without too much effort. As far as the weather, 50 miles west of Chicago we are hearing upper 40's to...
