RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

indeed, but I don't care about scale on this bird... the paintjob I've got is completely fictional already. I've moved the gear mounts to just infront of the main wing spar which seems about the...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

Yeah I think the sacrificial approach is probably best - I reinforce mine with a bit of epoxy and it seems to hold up fine to small knocks taxiing for example.

I've deccided to do something a...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

Just had a bit of a whoopsy. Had a long flight, went through two batteries and everything was going well... lined up for the last landing (typical) by...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

supposed to be mid august...

Should be far better than the stock trojan for one reason - spektrum radio gear.... biggest problem the trojan had solved in one go! If only it came with retracts as...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

I went down to 15% mix on the aileron/rudder - I think 30% was too much and it gave some messy aileron rolls.

I put the ailerons to one away from maximum throw (purely because on maximum the...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

disabling the BEC is easy - you can just unclip the middle wire from the ESC that goes to the reciever (the plug has a little retaining clip which you can carefully pry up and release the middle...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

Got a couple of good flights out of it today...

Couple of things to note - didn't get on with the 70% expo on elevator.. I found this gave too little response followed by too dramatic a...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

yeah I managed to get a flight in this evening and i think the elevator needs more expo so i'll try your 70%

I have seperate flaps, but is there any way to add in spoilerons to that...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

Well, just recieved my spare 2200mah lipo, my 10x7E APC prop and adaptor, and my DX6i and hooked it all up - so many options!

On dual rates I've put 45% exponential on the ailerons, 50% on the...

no, can't say i have...

Trim the elevator (i'd recommend on the plane rather than the controller) so that you get level flight at half throttle or just above and you should have a bit more...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

Okay, I rewired in my UBEC just to see if that helps and ran through most of a battery with the plane benched. Power between full and half, putting flaps up and down, moving controls all over and no...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

Yup. Well i didn't cut it, but i disconnected and insulated it... same difference.

The new ESC has a 3A BEC however, so i haven't even been trying to run the standalone BEC - that isn't wired...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

hooookay - my ESC just went up in a cloud of pink smoke....

I had previously wired in my UBEC and bypassed the inbuilt BEC, played with one of the flap servo's and all was well. Today my Y-lead...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

haha! now that's resourceful - unfortunately I'm not sure we have anything like that in the uk.

Coololdude - does it change the current draw much or is it okay? I don't have anyway of measuring...

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

I used krylon camo spraypaint sand colour as the base then a darker brown for the camo stripes with a gentle dusting of the sand colour over the top again to make the stripes more subtle and blended....

RE: Parkzone North American T-28 Trojan

okay, so from reading up on it it sounds like the universal approach to disabling BEC on the ESC is to disconnect in some way shape or form the RED wire from the lead that goes to the reciever - can...

And yeah, I'm faily sure they frown upon me landing the real things on their noses, upside down and at about 3x normal landing speed too. Live and learn eh.

I'm hoping...
