RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Ringed Tigers need to be adjusted to get the correct setting after they are broken in, so its normal for the carb to need readjusted as they go through breakin.
The original muffler has the correct...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

How much does the extra weigh ready to fly? to 3d you generally will need an engine at the top end of the recommended range, but if the plane is built too heavy you still may not be able to 3d even...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

If you want to fly 60 size warbirds at speed I would recommend the APC 14-6 prop. I have used the g90 on my 60 size warbirds for a lot of years and the g90 turns this prop VERY WELL. After breakin...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

voodoodb - I had no problems like you describe with wt499 carb on my 2300. It tuned right in at both high and low end. How long has your 2300 been run? Is your 2300 upright or inverted? Did you...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

I tapped the engine backplate in the center. used a 6-32 threaded fuel line fitting with a washer to keep it square. Then I ran a line from there to the adaptor fitting that connects to the pulse...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

So why would I want the evo carb when it is not meant for glow fuel? I stated I did not want to go to gas and still don't want to go to gas. the wt499 works fine with glow fuel so that's the carb...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

the reason i tried the wt499 is I didn't want to mess with converting the 2300 to run on gasoline.

the wt499 is designed to run glow fuel without changing jets, etc. Can the evo 26/35 carb do...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

I bought my wt-499 adaptor from rcignition, but I think he stopped selling engines, parts, etc. there was someone else selling adaptors also here on rcuniverse - they were fairly cheap - $15-20 as I...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

I ran mine about an hour last fall - haven't run it yet this year, so not sure how it is now. but the wt-499 was pretty easy to tune so the 2300 ran well.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

i have tested the walbro wt-499 carb on one of my 2300s and it runs very well with this carb and standard glow fuel. seems to me this is a great option for this engine.

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Darels - the bisson pitts muffler is definitely quieter. there is a tradeff of noise and power - some aftermarket mufflers have low back pressure and thus will give a little more power at full...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

tigrejohn-

I adjust the area of the muffler outlet tubes to be about the same as the original super tiger muffler.

I have posted this many times in this forum and others. if you want to...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

the tiger carbs tune fine if you give them the right muffler back pressure. I have run many G90s and 2300s and they all run fine with the right back pressure - eg no rich midrange. i have used 10%...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

inverted takes some care- the fuel tank centerline needs to be close to the same height as the carb inlet to get even fuel flow- unless you use a fuel regulator such as a Cline. also the fuel tends...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

Jay s - buy the one that is the correct weight to balance the plane - what engines does world recommend? what weights are they? at 9 pounds the 90 would fly it fine but the 2300 would fly it almost...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

I have run many g90s (some Italian and some chinese) and three 2300s (all chinese). I have used the tuning method Bax describes for nearly all of these and it works very well. the only times I had...

i have had 9 g90s - none of them do/did what you describe with the original carb and muffler. if you change either the muffler or carb you change the dynamics of the engine and you could...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

i will add some more comments - it is BACKWARDS to try to use the idle needle on ANY super tiger carb to control ANYTHING except the idle - maybe up to 1/4 throttle. Doing that GUARANTEES that your...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

w8ye- you are correct in saying if you turn the idle needle in TOO far it will start to control the mixture in the midrange and perhaps higher- but TOO far is still TOO far. for practical running...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

not24- the high end needle on the g90 controls for most of the range, not the idle needle. the idle needle starts to have an effect about 1/4 throttle down to idle. At least for all practical...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

the st 2300 instructions say to run standard glow fuel in that engine, not the 10/10 fuel. so i would say do NOT use the 10/10 fuel as this engine probably is not designed for the low lubricant...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

The standard slimline pitts muffler is not really a muffler but is just a box. They tend to be loud.
The large volume slimline pitts muffler is relatively quiet and the tigers sound great with...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

w8ye- did you adjust these numbers to allow for differences in the temperature and humidity? This can affect how the engine runs.

Higher nitro fuels in the g90 can give you higher output as...

RE: *** CLUB SUPER TIGRE ***

xjet-
I have no mid-range problems - my tigers don't load up as with proper back pressure the carbs are fairly easy to set to eliminate this. It is a balance between the needle settings. I now...
