RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks to all for your input. I kinda knew what the response would be and took the shields off. Now I can order another set to replace the one I got too aggressive with trying to open with an awl. I...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Gentlemen,
I would like your learned opinion on replacing the bearings on my old Saito FA-80.  The new bearings I received from Horizon are both sealed.  The original bearings are sealed front and...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks to all that replied. Looks like I'm off to Freight Harbor Tools for a better puller. HOBBSY, I know Colonial Beach well and river is 7 miles wide but my pliers are safely tucked away until I...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Gentlemen,
Does anyone out there in Club Saito Land have a suggestion for removing the prop drive/thrust washer from a FA-150? I purchased one here at RCU that the previous owner had used pliers...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I think Jim Feldmann's answer to me was best. I doubt the second tank would help. See his remarks below.

"So siphoning is not a problem if you run the fuel line up, then down to the
carb,...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Hi Subovia,

Check out my post to Biggles2 above this post. I think we all have the same problem and perhaps the suggestion I was given might help us all. Hope so. I haven't tried it yet.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Hi Biggles,
I was wondering about this same problem (fuel siphoning with an inverted engine) with my PacAero GeeBee Y and thought you might be interested in the answer I got from Jim at Pacific...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks to all that responded.
I gave Horizon a call also and got some very non committal info from them as well. It would seem that the the 8000 r.p.m. that I got is "in the ball park" for this...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

QUESTION PLEASE,
I have a question for you Club Saito guys. What kind of r.p.m. should I expect from a FA 150 swinging an 18/6 prop burning 15% Omega? I just purchased a used one here at RCU and...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks, hopefully it won't be needed. From the photo of your 130, it looks like you have two regulators (one per carb) and two pressure sources (one per muffler) hooked to a "Y" fitting to a single...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks for a positive note. I hadn't thought of using the pump to pressuize the tank, but I still have to wonder about enough lubrication for the lower end. Also, I'm not sure what type of...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks, I'll give it a try. Do you have a good way to tell when the bleed screws are halfway across their holes? I can barely see in the left carb, but not good enough to really see the screw...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I fell for the look and sound thing too. It's just that I have the older version of the 100T that has a cam driven pump that was supposed to improve lubrication to the crankcase but didn't. Also,...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I fell for the look and sound thing too. However, the model I have is an older version with a pump that runs off the cam that is supposed to provide better lube to the crankcase but doesn't. Also,...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I seem to have made a couple of huge mistakes. The first one was purchasing a Saito FA-100T without researching this forum first. The second one was placing the thing on a beautiful new SIG Waco...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Can someone with Twin Cylinder/Twin Carb. experience (FA-100T hopefully) tell me if these engines provide adequate exhaust pressure to the fuel tank to allow for a tank position 2 1/2 inches lower...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I have a question for someone about proper fuel tank location for a Saito FA-100T. I have a new SIG Waco SRE that I want to power with a 100T but I am concerned that the tank location in this ARF...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I had this problem with my FA 80 years ago. It was a brand new item for Saito then and was touted as a high compression powerhouse. That it was, but the high compression was a little too much for...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

Thanks Dave,
I have had several suggestions along the same line and I personally am leaning toward the re-tap. As that is the most complicated but more permanent repair, I may try the simple but...

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !

I have an oldie but goodie FA 80 that gauled the threads in the exhaust port when the SlimLine Pitts muffler came loose and vibrated excessively. The threads deepest in the port are the most damaged...
