RE: Tuff Flight's 4D

Greetings,
Since we are on the subject of servos I have a question for all listening. I have been flying my 4D several times and having a blast with it. I really like its stability even with the...

RE: Tuff Flight's 4D

Hi Poof,
I'm about to try my 4D with the Saito .82 14x4 prop after a couple of times with my Irvine .53. How many of the 14x4's have you broken? I also have the counter weights, but get a little...

RE: Tuff Flight's 4D

RE: Tuff Flight's 4D

In a word, NO. I am going to put a 12.25x3.75 APC prop on it for the next trip out. It's snowing out now so it could be a couple of weeks wait. [:o] GarySS

Flying Report:
We got a small break in the weather and I was able to get my 4D up and flying. All went well, and I didn’t even break a prop! Actually I didn’t try to “crash” and most of...

RE: Tuff Flight's 4D

Thanks guys. I probably started this in late November......but I build slow and even ignore a project for a week or two before doing something on it. The fuel tank and baseball bat were painted...

Completion of another one – 4D :)

Here are a few pictures of my rendition of Tufflight’s 4D. It has an Irvine.53, Hitec 635 servos + 225MG on throttle. Weight is 4 ¾ pounds. I also...

RE: Tuff Flight's 4D

Hi Wind Junkie,
Yeah, that Saito.82 should be able to take up to a 13x7 or 13x8 prop which is what I bot for it if I mount it in my Venus pattern ship. Master Airscrew just hasn't responded to...

RE: Tuff Flight's 4D

Hi Joe and Latch, Thanks for the detailed responses to my questions. I'm not trying to second guess anybody with the counter weights, just maybe enhance an already wonderful design if possible. I...

RE: Tuff Flight's 4D

Latch,
How smelly were the glues that you used? Did you have to have windows open while building. Did the smells linger?

After all of your "crashes" have you had to reinstall or repair any...

RE: Tuff Flight's 4D

Hi Ultimate99. You say you crashed about 50 times.....all with the YS.63 running? If so, which prop do you use and about what % of the time did you loose the prop??? I am considering this 4D as a...
