RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

There is no gelcoat on a SV. It is painted. Sand and fill the gouges with epoxy (I use automotive bondo) and then scuff and squirt. Get some custom graphics from SV27dayton and then clear over the...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Depending on what you paid for them, I say the were just good deals.

My current SV (#3) had the same issue you described and I picked it up for $140.00. I was more than pleased becuase, as...

Dang it... [:@]

Anyway, it casts better and doesn't "carry" so much in the wind and you can manipulate it once it's in the water much better...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Haha! I knew Wheelnut would beat me to it with the "props" for hatch tape. I use colored electrical tape. They both do the job. Buy a roll of each and see which one you like.

Haha! I knew...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Do not run it w/o those retainers. The fasteners are prolly in the box somewhere. If nothing else, take the whole boat to your local hardware store and find some stainless bolts/nuts that fit and...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Oil the shaft on both ends of the motor. 3 in 1 is what I use. It's fine. Forget scuffing the hull. I scuff the top of mine since it seems to create more drag than the bottem side....(kidding). ...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Trim tabs:
If they are adjusted even with the bottem of the boat, this is called "neutral".

If they are adjusted higher than the bottem of the boat, then they are "positive".

If they...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I was going to ask you about your having to "dry it out", but your lack of tape comment explained that one. Not a good idea...running without tape. I like to use regular old electrical tape. Home...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I hear ya. Mine stays pretty dry "most" of the time, as well. I just got in the habit and keep doing it now. I have seen "some" moisture in it from time to time though.

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

MrMIkeG has hit on a very crucial point in SV longevity. I'm on my 3rd and currently club race the SV. If you really want to make it as durable as possible, and minimize the potential of cracking the...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Yeah, in fact I just picked up a new DX 3.0 "kit" w/2 RX's for $224.00 + $6.00 to the door. I lost a SR3000 RX this past weekend. It had been subjected to a RX pack nuking right next to it in the MM...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

The Supervee's I've seen run on 14 cells and big props were borderline controlable. I would think the 3600's might be a better 7cell pack setup. For 6 cells, I like the 4200"WCE"'s
